Première Vision, the trade fair organiser, will launch a new chapter of its editorial platform, “Territories of Savoir-Faire.” Following France, Japan, and Portugal, the fair will spotlight India’s creative heritage in January.

Developed in collaboration with the Embassy of India in France and India’s Ministry of Textiles, this chapter will be unveiled at the next edition of the event at Paris Nord Villepinte, scheduled for January 26–28 and dedicated to the Autumn/Winter 2027/28 season. The announcement comes amid strengthening bilateral trade relations, spurred by the signing of a free trade agreement between the European Union and India last January.

“Première Vision Paris is the home of all forms of savoir-faire,” explains Florence Rousson, managing director of GL events’ fashion division. “Our 1,000 exhibitors represent the entire value chain and every continent, and ‘Territories of Savoir-Faire’ was created to foster dialogue among them, so that India will write the next chapter of this dialogue just as the agreement between the European Union and India opens a shared future for our industries.”

Trade in goods and services between Europe and India, the world’s fourth-largest economy, currently stands at over €180 billion a year. This volume of trade is estimated to support nearly 800,000 jobs within the European Union, while 6,000 European companies are already established in India.

“This collaboration with Première Vision Paris offers our weavers, artisans and businesses a structured platform to access international markets, design and global trends, while strengthening India’s position as a partner in sourcing and innovation for the global textile and fashion industry,” said Neelam Shami Rao, India’s Textiles Secretary, at the Première Vision Paris event held from September 1-3.

According to figures from the Institut Français de la Mode (IFM), in the first half of the year India was the EU’s fourth-largest supplier of clothing, with goods worth €2.3 billion, and its third-largest supplier of textiles, at €1.3 billion. Over the same period, India was also the tenth-largest buyer of European textiles, with orders worth €303 million.
