Campaign finance reports show Republican Jon Fay spent $26,000 last week in his campaign for House District 2.
The expenditures came during the July 11 to 17 reporting period and include $21,000 on SIMwins, a Tampa advertising agency, and $4,000 on consultants. To date, Fay has spent $77,000, roughly half of the $152,000 he has raised.
That’s significantly more than his Primary opponent, combat veteran and businessman Trei McMullen. According to his last available finance report, McMullen spent less than $1,000 between June 27 and July 10, and has less than $4,000 remaining of the $19,000 he has raised.
Fay, a retired naval flight officer who filed to run in March 2025, reports $30,500 in contributions from political committees, including $500 from a committee affiliated with Nick Primrose, former Deputy General Counsel to Govs. Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis.
Fay has also been endorsed by U.S. Rep. Jimmy Patronis and the Florida Chamber of Commerce.
HD 2 includes downtown Pensacola and stretches west to the Alabama border and east to Navarre. Term-limited Republican Rep. Alex Andrade has represented the district since 2018, most recently winning re-election in 2024 by a 22-point margin.
The winner of the GOP Primary on Aug. 18 will face Democrat Johnny Thompson in November. Thompson is a Generation Z candidate who has only raised $561 and last reported receiving a contribution in early March.
