EDGE Communications launches ‘first-of-its-kind’ WIN Fellowship Program

EDGE Communications is rolling out a first-of-its-kind fellowship program for aspiring political operatives in South Florida.

The WIN Fellowship is a paid training initiative designed to immerse students and young professionals in the mechanics of modern campaigning. The inaugural cohort includes 17 fellows who will be embedded across field, events and communications teams, working alongside campaign staff on active efforts throughout the region.

According to David Cruz Ramos, EDGE’s Chief of Staff and Palm Beach County Office Lead, the program is rooted in a long-term view of organizing infrastructure rather than one-off campaign cycles.

“The WIN Fellowship program emerged from a simple belief that when organizers are on the front lines of real campaigns and building lasting infrastructure, we can achieve sustainable change,” Ramos said. “We’ve seen the strength and power of youth organizing and we are excited to officially launch an integrated program that recruits and empowers our youth to make a real difference in competitive races across South Florida.”

Participants will take part in a range of campaign activities, including canvassing, phone banking, candidate events and digital outreach, while receiving formal training in organizing and communications strategy. Upon completion, fellows will earn a certificate recognizing their work in campaign organizing and civic engagement. Unlike similar programs, WIN Fellows will also be compensated for their work.

EDGE team member Sean Robinson has been named WIN’s Fellowship Manager as the campaign training initiative moves into full operation across Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Broward counties.

“Sean brings exactly the kind of people-centered, data-informed approach that makes field organizing effective,” said Justin Pascul, EDGE’s Senior Field and Engagement Director. “His background in communications, research, and civic engagement makes him uniquely equipped to lead our canvassing operations and develop the next generation of political organizers.”

Robinson added, “Effective field work isn’t just about knocking doors — it’s about building real relationships with residents and communities. I’m looking forward to helping our Fellows develop those skills and make a tangible impact across South Florida.”
