St. Pete LPGA Legend Brittany Lincicome still competing and growing the game she loves

Brittany Lincicome Still Driving the Game Forward — On and Off the Course

By Jeff Stanislow | Sports Talk Florida | GolfersUnite.com

There are players who leave a mark on the game with trophies. And then
there are players like Brittany Lincicome — better known to golf fans as
“Bam Bam” — who leave a lasting impact both inside the ropes and far
beyond them.

I had the chance to catch up with the LPGA star on my radio show Let’s Go Low, presented by GolfersUnite.com, and what stood out wasn’t just her incredible resume — it was her perspective on the game, her journey, and her passion for growing golf for the next generation.

From humble beginnings in St. Petersburg to major champion, and now into a new chapter of giving back, Lincicome’s story is one that continues to evolve.

From Backyard Golf to LPGA Stardom

Like many great players, Lincicome’s journey started young — but not exactly in a straight line. She was playing baseball with the boys until
around age 12 before making the decision that would change her life. Her father, a scratch golfer, helped guide that transition — and it
didn’t come easy. Golf isn’t cheap, and Lincicome made it clear her family had to be strategic. They stuck to local junior tournaments, often within driving distance, and even made the decision for her to homeschool to fully commit to the game.

That sacrifice paid off.

She turned professional on her first attempt at qualifying — a rare feat — and quickly learned what life on tour really meant.

“Bam Bam” and Breakthrough Moments

If you know Brittany Lincicome, you know the nickname. “Bam Bam” isn’t just catchy — it fits. Between her power off the tee and her energetic personality, the name stuck. And it didn’t take long for her game to match the hype.

One of her most meaningful moments came early — her first LPGA Tour victory in just her second year.

Major Championships and Clutch Performances

Lincicome is a two-time major champion, winning both the Kraft Nabisco Championship and ANA Inspiration — and both victories came down to clutch shots under immense pressure.

A New Chapter: Family, Balance, and Giving Back

These days, Lincicome describes herself as “semi-retired.” She’s scaling back her schedule but remains deeply connected to the
game. This week she is traveling to Houston to compete in The Chevron Championship. While she is very competitive she understands that part of her role is to help grow the game and prepare for the LPGA Senior Tour which she is eligible for in a few short years!

Lincicome is also giving back to the community as a director of The First Tee – St. Petersburg chapter.

Growing the Game — Especially for Women

Lincicome is deeply involved with the First Tee of St. Petersburg, helping run events and raise money to make golf more accessible for
kids. She also sees a major gap for adult women in golf and is advocating for growth in that space.

Still Swinging, Still Leading

Brittany Lincicome may be easing into a new phase of her career, but her influence is only growing.
