Superdrug is making beauty appointments a whole lot easier. As demand for treatments booms, the UK health & beauty retail giant has launched an online booking service for its in-store Beauty Studios, “giving customers a simple new way to plan their treatments before they even step into the store.”
Online booking might not sound like a big deal but it really underlines the importance of the services available at what was once a business focused purely on selling products, many of them fast-moving, low-priced products.
Initially available across 72 stores, before rolling out to 200 locations by the end of October, customers can now pre-book a range of treatments with its beauty therapists with each appointment including consultation to “help customers find the treatment and finish that works for them.”
Treatments include: nails, including Gel Polish and Builder Gel manicures, nail extensions and pedicures; brows, (shaping and tinting); waxing, including full-face waxing and threading; lashes, including Korean lash lifts, strip lash application, tinting and express lash extensions; hair, from an extensive colour menu and complete restyles to blow-dries; and piercings (a walk-in only service).
“Following the continued success of [our] Beauty Studios and growing demand for its in-store beauty services… making it even easier for customers to secure a convenient appointment and fit a little beauty time into their day,” the retailer said.
Superdrug chief operating officer Simon Comins added: “As demand continues to grow, introducing online booking is a natural next step in making services even easier to access. It also brings our store and online experiences closer together.”
