Tampa Bay has a big week in Florida High School poll

Tampa Bay Powers Shine in Latest Florida Top 25 Rankings

The newest Florida Top 25 football rankings, released Oct. 11 through the Massey/MaxPreps composite, underscore just how deep and competitive the Tampa Bay region has become in 2026. With IMG Academy, Armwood, Lakeland, Tampa Bay Tech, Clearwater Central Catholic, Venice, Seminole, Berkeley Prep and Cardinal Mooney all earning spots, the Bay Area continues to shape the statewide conversation as the season heads toward its final stretch.

IMG Academy remains the state’s most dominant force, sitting at No. 1 with another unbeaten start. The Ascenders have rolled through a national schedule and continue to set the standard for elite Florida football. Their presence at the top anchors a statewide poll that features several Tampa Bay programs climbing fast.

Armwood and Lakeland Continue Their Rise

Armwood’s resurgence has become one of the season’s defining storylines. The Hawks sit inside the Top 15 after stacking wins behind a defense that has tightened each week. Their physical style and improving offensive rhythm have made them one of the most dangerous teams in the region.

Lakeland remains a fixture in the Top 25 as well, powered by a balanced roster and a ground game that has worn down opponents. The Dreadnaughts’ consistency keeps them firmly in the statewide conversation.

Tampa Bay Tech and Clearwater Central Catholic Hold Strong

Tampa Bay Tech continues to show why it is one of the area’s most reliable contenders. The Titans’ athleticism and defensive speed have carried them through a challenging schedule, earning another Top 25 appearance.

Clearwater Central Catholic also maintains its place in the rankings thanks to disciplined play and a veteran core. CCC’s ability to win close games has kept the Marauders relevant throughout the fall.

Venice, Seminole and Berkeley Prep Add Depth

Venice and Seminole both remain Top 25 staples, each showcasing strong defensive units and efficient offenses. Their continued presence highlights the depth of the region.

Berkeley Prep rounds out the Bay Area contingent, returning to the Top 25 with a young roster that has matured quickly.

Cardinal Mooney Represents Bradenton’s Surge

Cardinal Mooney’s climb into the Top 25 adds another layer to the region’s strength. The Cougars’ disciplined defense and timely offense have made them one of the most improved programs in Florida.
