Our chances to score big at Saratoga are beginning to wind down as we approach Labor Day Weekend. We remain positive, and again, while we were not able to string a P5 together, we do continue to lock into winners in the sequence. On a side note, thank you to my partner John Kostin, for having Saratoga track announcer Frank Mirahmadi join the Monday Brisnet Play of the Day Podcast. He provided some interesting insight to his call on The Whitney Stakes, and we thank him for joining us.

We will be on Friday at 3pm for our Happy Hour, where we will take a deep dive on the feature race on Saturday’s card at Saratoga, The Christophe Clement Turf Gr 1 Race, 1 Million Dollar turf marathon race, to be run in Race 9. We will also look at The King’s Plate being run at Woodbine on Saturday in Race 10.

The Late P5 at Saratoga 8/8/26
Race 10 The Fourstardave
We loved #2 MiBago who ran a great race, but was a solid 2nd place, and paid $12.26. We did have the winner #5 Deterministic and we were able to complete the exacta with our top 2 picks, and the exacta paid $60.90.
Race 11 The Saratoga Derby
A longshot took top honors that we did not have on our ticket. We landed on trainer William Walden’s runner #10 West End Kid, and the outside post position may have been his undoing, as 2nd place was where he landed.
Race 12 The Whitney
The winner #6 Sovereignty may have stamped himself as the champion horse in the division with the impressive win. He had to work hard to run past the ultragame filly, #2 Nitrogen in the stretch. Our single here, #8 Baeza finished a fading 4th place, and not sure what the future holds for this runner.
Race 13
We liked both of trainer William Walden’s runners here, #8 Battis Grove, and the speedy #9 Beach Heist. The best we got from that pair was a 2nd place finish from #8 Battis Grove, and paid $5.54 for the effort.
Race 14
Turf marathons are where experience matters, and we made a strong case for the winner #4 Versailles Road, as the only runner in the field with a win at the 1 ⅜ distance on turf. The 1st place finish earned backers $9.64.
The P5 again paid very well if you had it at $6,525 for the sequence. So be sure to tune in for Happy Hour Friday at 3pm. We can be seen on Sports Talk Media Network and multiple streaming apps and social channels. As always, bet smart, cheer hard, fast horses can lead to some real fun, and in the end, Let ‘em Run.
