Paul Renner launches ‘rural values’ tour

Gubernatorial candidate Paul Renner is taking his message to small towns over the next few days in the former House Speaker’s latest effort to connect with voters over what he sees as shared “conservative values.”

He will be stopping at churches, businesses, and other locations, meeting with “families, faith leaders, farmers, small business owners, and local elected officials” according to a release from his campaign.

“Florida’s rural communities are the best of what our state has to offer,” Renner said. “In rural Florida, values like faith in God, love of family, and pride in country are not talking points, they are a way of life passed down from generation to generation. These communities feed our state, power our economy, and preserve the freedoms and traditions that make Florida unique. In the next few days, I am excited to connect with these individuals who help shape the future of our state and keep Florida strong.”

Sunday, May 31st finds the campaign in Pensacola.

On Monday, he will be in Pace, Milton, Crestview, and Bonifay.

The next day includes stops in Chipley, Marianna, Blountstown, Bristol, and Crawfordville.

Perry, Trenton, Lake Butler, and Macclenny close out the itinerary on Wednesday.

Renner is far behind front-runner Byron Donalds in every public poll of the race. He has performed better in straw polls, which his campaign frequently points to as a sign of viability.
