Following the launch of its second-hand initiative and repair services, Maje is now exploring upcycled materials through a partnership with Adapta—a French start-up that provides fashion houses with a curated selection of deadstock leather from luxury brands. As part of this collaboration, the SMCP-owned label will debut a capsule handbag collection in mid-March.

The brand has selected three of its most iconic fringed designs—the Miss M, M Bag, and Mini M Bag—each produced in a limited run of 100 pieces in Italy, using leather handpicked by Adapta.
“By combining our expertise in leather repurposing with Maje’s creativity, we demonstrate that desirability, innovation, and sustainability can coexist,” said Virginie Ducatillon, who founded Adapta in 2018.

These exclusive pieces will be available on Maje’s e-commerce platforms in Europe and the U.S., as well as in select boutiques, with prices ranging from €275 to €335. Established in 1998 by Judith Milgrom, Maje operates 640 stores worldwide and reported €462.5 million in revenue in 2023, maintaining stable sales compared to 2022.
