Linda Bokland launches bid for Lake County Commission

‘I want to ensure that our county remains a place where families can thrive, businesses can grow, and our quality of life is protected.’

Linda Bokland, a longtime Lake County resident and small-business owner, has launched a campaign for the Lake County Commission’s District 4 seat.

The Republican is framing her bid around fiscal responsibility, private property rights and what she described as a need for conservative leadership at the county level.

“I’m running because Lake County is my home,” Bokland said. “This is where my family lives, where I’ve built my business, and where I’ve invested my time and energy. Alongside President (Donald) Trump and Gov. (Ron) DeSantis’ leadership, I want to ensure that our county remains a place where families can thrive, businesses can grow, and our quality of life is protected.”

In her announcement, Bokland emphasized support for term limits, fiscal restraint and protections for private property. She also said county government should focus on core responsibilities such as public safety, infrastructure and growth management that balances development with preservation of rural character and natural resources.

Bokland brings more than four decades of experience across federal, state and local government, according to her campaign. Her background includes work in public safety, emergency management, regulatory compliance and real estate. She is a licensed Realtor and the broker-owner of a Lake County-based real estate brokerage.

Her professional experience includes service with the U.S. Department of Justice, the Florida Department of Corrections and the Florida Department of Agriculture, as well as disaster response coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and state partners. Bokland has also worked as a liaison with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National School and Emergency Food Program.
