Property giant British Land calls Sheffield’s Meadowhall the “most dominant super-regional retail destination,” and is endorsing the claim “with a flurry of aspirational jewellery deals”.
The centre has secured three “significant renewals” with commitment from Goldsmiths, Swarovski, and Austen & Blake “evidence of the strength of the category at Meadowhall, given the 8.5% (YTD vs August) uplift in category sales.”
Goldsmiths has renewed its 5,571 sq ft unit on Upper High Street, incorporating a dedicated Rolex boutique, alongside the Goldsmiths brand. The new shop-in-shop showcases Rolex’s premium collection of watches, complemented by a dedicated pre-owned section.
Swarovski, meanwhile, has recommitted to its 1,223 sq ft space on Lower High Street.
Specialist fine jeweller and diamond retailer Austen & Blake has also recommitted to Meadowhall, reinvesting in a 1,205 sq ft upsized unit, almost double that of the previous space.
Together, these three deals “highlight… the clear demand for jewellery across accessible, aspirational, and premium propositions. They also demonstrate the spending power of Meadowhall’s expansive catchment, attracted by the centre’s regionally unrivalled variety of brands.”
Richard Crowther, Retail Leasing director at British Land, added: “Fundamentally, we understand what our customers want and value from a shopping experience. We have a diverse customer base that wants affordable, everyday pieces up to statement, celebratory jewellery and gifting choices.
“These three deals come from success and aligning with our audience, jewellery consistently being a top-performing category, securing a quality tenant mix for the long term and real momentum as we build towards Christmas.”
