Buccaneers NFL WEEK 5 Baker Mayfield has led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to their first 3-0 start in 21 years, engineering game-winning drives in all three contests. Here’s how he’s become the NFL’s clutch king.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are bringing back one of the most popular uniforms in franchise history.
After debuting the special ’76 throwback uniforms during the team’s 50th anniversary celebration last season, Tampa Bay announced Wednesday that the fan-favorite look will return in 2026.
The Buccaneers revealed they will wear the white ’76 throwback uniforms during their Week 13 home game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Last season, Tampa Bay wore the uniforms twice. The first appearance came at home against the New York Jets. The second came on the road against the Seattle Seahawks.
Originally, the organization said the uniforms were exclusive to the franchise’s 50th anniversary season.
However, the overwhelmingly positive reaction from fans made their return an easy decision.
Buccaneers Have Plenty of Uniform Options
NFL rules now allow teams to use up to three different helmets. Teams can also wear alternate uniforms as many as four times during the regular season.
The Buccaneers currently have their traditional pewter helmet and the white throwback helmet used with the ’76 uniforms.
That gives Tampa Bay several different uniform combinations throughout the season.
More Alternate Uniforms Could Still Be Coming
The Buccaneers haven’t announced whether the classic orange creamsicle uniforms will return during the 2026 season.
There has also been speculation surrounding the return of the club’s all-pewter alternate uniforms. Those uniforms were worn periodically between 2020 and 2023.
For now, the only confirmed alternate appearance will come against the Chargers in Week 13.
Training Camp Is Almost Here
While fans now know one of Tampa Bay’s uniform plans, attention will soon shift back to football.
The Buccaneers report for training camp on July 28. From there, preparations for the 2026 season officially begin.
Summary
The Buccaneers listened to their fans by bringing back the popular ’76 throwback uniforms. Tampa Bay will wear the uniforms against the Chargers in Week 13, while additional alternate uniform announcements could still arrive later this season. With training camp approaching, excitement continues building for another year of Buccaneers football.
