Blaise Ingoglia is continuing to collect big-name support in his first campaign for Chief Financial Officer.
U.S. Rep. Aaron Bean, a Fernandina Beach Republican, is the latest member of Congress to endorse Ingoglia.
“I have seen firsthand Blaise Ingoglia’s commitment to protecting our freedoms, growing Florida’s economy, and standing strong for our shared values. Blaise has the integrity, work ethic, and vision our state needs, and I’m proud to support him for Florida CFO,” Bean said in a news release.
Bean is the second member of Congress to back Ingoglia just this week. On Tuesday, U.S. Rep. Brian Mast gave his thumbs up. The Treasure Coast Republican said Ingoglia has demonstrated “steadfast leadership” at the helm of the CFO’s Office.
Ingoglia also picked up an endorsement from Central Florida Republican U.S. Rep. Kat Commack earlier this month.
Ingoglia said he is humbled by the backing from federal officeholders, now including Bean.
“I’m honored to have Congressman Bean’s endorsement. He has been a strong voice for Florida in Washington, and I look forward to continuing our shared mission of keeping Florida financially strong, safe, and free,” Ingoglia said.
Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Ingoglia as CFO last year. Ingoglia is a former Chair of the Republican Party of Florida who was a state Senator from Spring Hill before he was picked to replace Jimmy Patronis.
Ingoglia has also garnered support from several first responder organizations. He has been traveling the state distributing a combined $28 million in grants to Fire Departments and emergency workers throughout the past year.
Ingoglia is competing against Frank Collige in the Aug. 18 Republican Primary. But Collige hasn’t raised significant funds to challenge Ingoglia.
No-party candidate John Smith is also running. No Democrat has filed. But assuming Smith makes the ballot, non-GOP voters would be locked out of voting in the August Republican Primary.
