Orlando Magic finds TV partners

Magic Announce New Over‑the‑Air TV Partners for 2026‑27 Season

The Orlando Magic have officially secured a new broadcast home for the 2026‑27 season, announcing that Cox Media Group will serve as the team’s over‑the‑air partner. All regular season games, excluding national exclusives, will air on WRDQ TV 27, with select matchups also appearing on WFTV Channel 9. The agreement marks a major shift in the Magic’s media strategy as the franchise continues expanding its reach across Central Florida.

Magic President of Business Operations Charlie Freeman said the partnership will strengthen the team’s connection with fans while delivering consistent, high‑quality coverage throughout the season. He emphasized that WRDQ TV 27 and WFTV Channel 9 will provide live games, replays, pregame and postgame programming, and original content designed to bring viewers closer to the team.

Cox Media Group Highlights Accessibility and Local Commitment

WFTV and WRDQ Vice President and General Manager Darren Moore said the collaboration will make Magic basketball more accessible than ever. He noted that combining the Magic brand with Central Florida’s leading news organization will create new opportunities for storytelling, community engagement, and expanded sports programming. The partnership reinforces Cox Media Group’s commitment to delivering local content that resonates with viewers across the region.

The broadcast team will remain familiar to fans. Dante Marchitelli returns as the full‑time play‑by‑play voice, joined once again by former Magic forward Jeff Turner as analyst. Kendra Douglas enters her fourth season as team reporter, continuing her role in delivering features, interviews, and behind‑the‑scenes coverage.

Regional Coverage Expands as Tampa Affiliate Nears Announcement

Magic broadcasts will be available throughout the team’s regional territory, with a full station lineup and broadcast schedule to be released later this summer. A Tampa affiliate will be named soon, expanding the Magic’s footprint across the I‑4 corridor and strengthening access for fans in the greater Tampa Bay market.

The team also plans to announce a direct‑to‑consumer streaming partner in the near future. The addition of a streaming option will give fans multiple ways to watch games, ensuring flexibility and convenience as media habits continue to evolve.

A New Era of Magic Coverage Begins

With Cox Media Group now in place and additional partners on the way, the Magic are entering a new era of broadcast accessibility. Fans across Central Florida and beyond will soon have more ways than ever to follow the team throughout the 2026‑27 season.
