World Grand Prix 2026: semi-final lineups, predictions & where to watch

Luke Humphries (PDC)

The 2026 Darts World Grand Prix has reached the semi-final stage and, as always, has provided drama and shocks from the off.

Defending champion Luke Littler was knocked out in the first round by Luke Woodhouse, while Michael van Gerwen also exited at the opening hurdle, opening up the field from the very start.

Now down to the final four, this brilliant double-in, double-out format has set up the chance for a new champion to be crowned, or for one of three former champions to lift the title once again.

Can Aspinall block Price from a shot at long awaited major?

Semi-Final 1: Nathan Aspinall v Gerwyn Price

Gerwyn Price will be all too aware that it is now four years since his 2022 World Series title triumph, with another major title still proving elusive.

Given his consistency in reaching the latter stages of most tournaments, Price will be desperate to finally get over the line, particularly after losing to Ross Smith in last week’s World Series final.

Nathan Aspinall will pose a massive threat, however, and with his form peaking at the right time of year, he should push Price all the way and give himself the chance to win this title for the first time.

Having also won a major more recently than Price, at the 2023 World Matchplay, ‘The Asp’ may have a slight psychological edge heading into what should be a tight encounter.

It could go either way, but if Price is zoned in on the doubles, he should have enough to reach a second successive major final.

Prediction: Gerwyn Price 5-3 Nathan Aspinall

Wily Wade will provide stern test for ‘Cool Hand’

Semi-Final 2: Luke Humphries v James Wade

Going into this one, the bookmakers will have Luke Humphries as the favourite, but not many players can navigate a set based format as shrewdly as ‘The Machine’, James Wade.

A two-time winner of the tournament, Wade will look to take his chances at the key moments rather than worry about the averages.

Humphries will likely outscore him, but in set-based gameplay, that does not matter nearly as much. Ultimately, it comes down to who can produce when it matters on the doubles.

Humphries, the 2023 champion, will likely win if he can get off to a quick start and avoid stalling on the opening double. However, he must be wary of his opponent, and for me, Wade has the experience and game management to frustrate Humphries and get over the line.

Prediction: James Wade 5-4 Luke Humphries
