Wendy Williams and those closest to her are baffled at why she’s being kept in her assisted living facility’s memory care unit, and TMZ has learned others in that building are wondering the very same thing.
We spoke to people very familiar with the NYC facility where Wendy is living … and they say residents on the 5th floor, where Wendy stays, are mostly in their 80s and up with severe cases of dementia or cognitive impairments.
That account matches Wendy’s own description of her surroundings, which she shared in our new documentary, ‘Saving Wendy.’

We’re told the vast majority of patients need full-time care and supervision and would be a danger to themselves on their own … which is why the residents can’t leave the 5th floor unattended.
Still, our sources were genuinely shocked when they found out through the media Wendy is staying there.
“TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy” — streaming now on Tubi — explores her guardianship, and in it, Wendy tells us she’s only been outside in fresh air twice in 30 days … both times for dentist appointments.
While they don’t know any specifics about Wendy’s case, our sources find it odd the guardian hasn’t gotten her moved if she’s unhappy living there, or feels she is much higher functioning than the other memory care residents.
We’re told the facility is not a nursing home and there are no doctors or physicians on staff, so residents need a family member or someone from the facility to accompany them to a doctor’s office or have the doctor come to them.
That’s a major problem for Wendy, as she told us she’s rarely allowed visits from any friends or family.

What’s not adding up for the folks we spoke to is this … they say the facility is highly regarded and the staff has a sterling reputation. They say it’s very expensive — the best money can buy — and they don’t believe the facility would keep Wendy against her will if she didn’t need help.
And, therein lies the dilemma … Wendy tells us she’s fine and doesn’t need round-the-clock monitoring, and several people who’ve spoken extensively with her recently — including Harvey Levin — support that assessment.
As for the day-to-day for residents at the facility … we’re told there are meals, enriching activities, simple exercises, art, entertainment, games, and mentally stimulating activities.
For her part, Wendy tells us she takes her food in her room because she says it’s extremely depressing to be around 90-year-olds with serious health problems.
TMZ broke the story … Wendy signed an affidavit Wednesday, officially asking the judge to dissolve the guardianship, and the guardian has approved a new medical evaluation for her — the first steps toward what Wendy hopes will be her freedom.

Mariah Carey‘s Las Vegas outfit is definitely a hole-in-one … ’cause she wore a skintight outfit to tee off at Top Golf!
The singer-songwriter shared a series of snaps highlighting her clothes to Instagram … leaning on a golf club and ready to whack one a couple hundred yards.
MC shared a couple other pics too … and, she’s looking glamorous in each one with her mesh bodysuit — which gives fans a glimpse of her bra — and high heels.
She captioned the photo set, “Reinventing golf attire” … we don’t know if this classy ensemble will be emulated on many courses around the country — but, never say never.
If you don’t know … Mariah’s been in Vegas recently as part of “The Celebration of Mimi” residency which was supposed to end last year though more dates were added because of the high demand.
“The Celebration of Mimi” wrapped up February 15 … so, it’s unclear if Mariah’s still in Vegas or if she’s just sharing some of her favorite moments from her time in Sin City.
Mariah had a super popular tour in the lead-up to Christmas too … and celebs seemed to love it as much as her other fans, ’cause Rihanna wanted her boob signed after one show.
Looks like she’s taking it easy after months of performing … and, she may even be ‘obsessed’ with a new sport!

Rudy Giuliani‘s taking his time picking a new hair dye … eyeing the ingredients on the back with suspicion — and, he’s got good reason to be cautious.
The former mayor of New York City hit up a Walmart in Secaucus, New Jersey Saturday afternoon … pulling up in a mobility scooter with an aide by his side.

The two are in the haircare section — you can see the products on the shelf in front of him — and Giuliani is scrutinizing the back of what we’re told is hair dye.
Unclear what Rudy’s looking for here … but, he might be concerned about another awkward interaction if his dye job starts running again.
Remember … in the aftermath of the 2020 election, Giuliani was working for Donald Trump to prove widespread voter fraud had swung the results.
During one press conference, the heat started to get to RG … and, while he repeatedly wiped his brow, it got so hot that hair dye started to run in a line down his cheek. The moment was satirized on shows like “Saturday Night Live” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”
The past few years have been difficult for Giuliani … who surrendered to authorities in August 2023 and hit with multiple charges like engaging in criminal conspiracies and breaking Georgia’s racketeering act after he allegedly trying to interfere with federal election results in the state.
He was also ordered to pay $146 million to two Georgia election officials he defamed … and, he had to declare bankruptcy because of it. Giuliani was also disbarred in New York last year.
Looks like Giuliani’s looking to add a little more color to his hair … hopefully it sticks!

Teddi Mellencamp‘s turning a corner for the better, and her most recent health update looks promising … this according to Dr. Terry and Heather Dubrow.
We caught up with reality TV couple in L.A. Friday night, and we asked about how Mellencamp’s doing — Heather and Teddi have both starred on ‘Real Housewives’ series, so they run in similar circles — and, Heather says they got a good update this week.
Heather and Terry won’t share what exactly the good news is … but, they say it means Teddi’s turning a corner — and, doing a lot better than when she was initially told she had multiple tumors on her brain.
The Dubrows say Teddi’s incredibly brave … and, they’re asking people to keep praying for TM.
As we told you … Teddi shared the news of her diagnosis with fans last week — revealing a series of splitting headaches sent her to the ER, where she was diagnosed.
She underwent surgery to remove some of the largest ones … but, the rest she said would be handled via radiation.
Teddi’s sister, Justice, shared an update in the days after the surgery … admitting it was hard to watch a loved one go through this type of pain — but, adding Teddi is one of the strongest people she knows.
It sounds like things are trending in the right direction for Teddi … though there’s almost certainly a long road ahead.
