Wendy Williams should regain control of her own life before the new year … according to her powerhouse lawyer Joe Tacopina.
Tacopina spoke to “Nightline” about his client’s guardianship, saying, “The plan is this … There are guardianship attorneys … and we’re watching and waiting, and they’ve assured Wendy by year’s end she’ll be out of guardianship.”
The legendary talk show host has been in a highly restrictive guardianship for more than 3 years, despite the latest neurologist testing saying she doesn’t have frontotemporal dementia — the medical condition is what a judge used to justify the guardianship after Wendy’s guardian claimed Wendy was suffering from dementia.
Frontotemporal dementia, according to multiple experts to whom we have spoken, never gets better — only worse. Yet Wendy has exhibited remarkable neurological resilience since she got clean and sober 3 years ago.
Last month, we reported that in light of the new medical confirmation … if the judge refuses to end the guardianship, Tacopina will then demand a jury trial and ask jurors to free Wendy.
In a clip from his “Nightline” interview, Tacopina told Byron Pitts, “You and I can go take a walk downstairs right now … we’ll find 5 people in an hour who will belong more in a guardianship program than Wendy Williams.”
Wendy has reportedly been paying roughly $18,000 a month to the facility where she’s been housed.

The white nationalist podcaster sat down Monday with Piers Morgan for a wide-ranging interview on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” — and things got tense when the convo turned to Fuentes’ sexuality.
At one point, Morgan asked Fuentes if he’s attracted to women, and Fuentes confirmed that he is … but he finds it “very difficult” to be around them.
When Morgan asked if he’s gay, Fuentes replied, “No.” Then Morgan turned to Fuentes’ misogyny before looping back to the topic of sex and asked Fuentes the million-dollar question … has he ever had sex in his 27 years on the planet?
Check out Fuentes’ response in the clip … it’s pretty shocking. Kudos to Piers for getting Fuentes to give up the goods about his lack of carnal knowledge.

Personal injury lawyer Thomas J. Henry proved he throws a party like nobody else … dropping a TON of money to hire Ricky Martin for a secret performance at his engagement celebration … TMZ has learned.
Sources familiar with the party tell TMZ … the powerhouse personal injury attorney brought in Ricky for a 45-minute private concert Saturday night at the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel in Puerto Rico, where Thomas celebrated his engagement to Dr. Elena Alvarez Westwood.
We’re told 500 guests — including Marc Anthony — had no clue Ricky was going to hit the stage. Our sources say the party absolutely exploded when Ricky launched into his hits.
A massive scaffolding went up on the property ahead of the event. Even the staff working the bash weren’t spared the glam … they were all custom-measured for tailored outfits specifically for the night.
TMZ obtained a note slipped under hotel guests’ doors from Thomas and Elena ahead of the big party, alerting them that a large projection would be displayed on the side of the building and asking them to keep all curtains closed from 6 PM to 2:30 AM to help create the magical moment for the philanthropic couple.
