Weekend action is at Belmont and Churchill Downs

Belmont Park Saturday Sequence: Races 6 Through 8

Race 6 (2:10 PM EST) – The Pumpkin Pie Stakes

Distance: 7 Furlongs (Dirt) | Purse: $175,000

The action this week is at two iconic tracks Belmont and Churchill Downs with plenty of races to enjoy.

A short field of six distaff sprinters opens the sequence, led by heavy morning-line favorite Senza Parole (3-5). Trained by Chad Brown and ridden by Flavien Prat, this classy daughter of Gun Runner steps down slightly in class after competing against the top fillies in the nation.

If there is a legitimate price option capable of pulling off an upset, Amalfi Drive (10-1) could prove dangerous. Under the guidance of trainer Michael Stidham, who has enjoyed a strong autumn meeting, she possesses the early foot to secure an unpressured lead and take this field wire-to-wire.

Race 7 (2:41 PM EST) – The Carle Place Stakes

Distance: 6 Furlongs (Turf) | Purse: $175,000

This competitive turf sprint represents the best opportunity to find real sequence value. Intricate Spirit (12-1) holds a notable early speed advantage for trainer Miguel Clement. With jockey Sam Marin in the irons, a clean break could allow this runner to dictate terms up front and improve to an undefeated 3-for-3 mark at six furlongs, a scenario supported by a sharp workout on October 31.

Closing late will be Oscar’s Hope (9-2), who reunites with jockey Junior Alvarado. Replicating the winning effort from three starts back at Saratoga would make this runner a serious threat in the deep stretch. Additionally, Doubting Thomas (7-2) demands respect with rider Jorge Ruiz aboard, seeking a second consecutive trip to the winner’s circle.

Race 8 (3:12 PM EST) – The Dwyer Stakes

Distance: 1 Mile (Dirt) | Purse: $200,000

The feature event at Belmont highlights the return of undefeated sophomore Ted Noffey (8-5). After an injury derailed his pursuit of the 2026 Triple Crown trail, the Todd Pletcher trainee has put together a series of impressive morning workouts in preparation for his comeback. His back class and raw speed make him the horse to beat.

The primary challenge comes from Igniter (8-1), trained by Richard Dutrow and ridden by Manny Franco. Igniter is a perfect 2-for-2 at the one-mile distance and should appreciate the drop in class after contesting the Grade 1 Pennsylvania Derby against elite three-year-old competition.

Churchill Downs Feature: Race 10

Race 10 – The Bet On Sunshine Stakes

Distance: 6 Furlongs (Dirt) | Purse: $300,000

Action at Churchill Downs concludes Saturday with a deep field of older sprinters lining up for the Bet On Sunshine Stakes. Early pace will play a crucial role over the six-furlong main track distance. Finding a runner capable of stalking a contested pace while maintaining tactical positioning will be key to unlocking the winning combination under the lights in Louisville.
