Venezuela’s Nicolás Maduro Indicted on Drug and Weapon Charges … Photo Shows Him in Custody

9:16 AM PST — President Donald Trumphas announced that he plans to “run” the country of Venezuela “until such time that we can do a safe, proper and judicious transition,” in a press briefing Saturday morning. His announcement comes after the U.S. military captured the country’s president, Nicolás Maduro, and his wife, who are being transported to America on drug and weapons charges.

Trump did not offer how the United States would oversee Venezuela but noted he has his eyes set on Venezuela’s vast oil reserves. He suggested American oil companies can rebuild the country’s energy infrastructure and consequently regaining rights to the oil there, adding … “It’s going to make a lot of money.”
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, have been indicted on drug and weapons charges following their overnight capture by the United States military.
As you know, President Donald Trump said Saturday the pair was taken by U.S. troops and is currently on a warship en route to New York to face charges, which can carry a hefty prison sentence if found guilty.
The commander-in-chief also shared a photo of him in custody on the USS Iwo Jima looking quite comfy in a matching sweatsuit and a bottle of water in his hand.
In the indictment unsealed Saturday, Maduro and his co-conspirators have been charged with narco-terrorism conspiracy, cocaine importation conspiracy, possession of machineguns and destructive devices and conspiracy to possess machineguns and destructive devices.
The charges are the same as in a 2020 indictment against Maduro. The 2020 version named 5 defendants, while the new one names 6 — including Maduro’s wife and son, Nicolás Ernesto Maduro Guerra. The minister of the interior, Diosdado Cabello Rondon, is named in both as well, while 2 new defendants were added in the new document. 3 people listed on 2020’s indictment were dropped.
Trump had pressured Maduro and his government to clean up their act for months before he launched several military strikes and took Maduro and his wife captive. He has long accused Maduro of funneling drugs and gang members designated as terrorist organizations into America.
In the indictment, Maduro and his co-conspirators are accused of using his “illegally obtained authority and the institutions he corroded to transport thousands of tons of cocaine to the United States” and tarnishing “every public office he has held.” He specifically accused Maduro and Flores of organizing their “own groups of state-sponsored gangs known as ‘colectivos’ to facilitate and protect their drug trafficking operation.”
There have been concerns raised that the attack is illegal, but Vice President J.D. Vance has Trump’s back, noting … “PSA for everyone saying this was ‘illegal’: Maduro has multiple indictments in the United States for narcoterrorism. You don’t get to avoid justice for drug trafficking in the United States because you live in a palace in Caracas.” Caracas is Venezuela’s capital and is where Maduro was captured.
Bob Weir — the guitarist and founding member of the Grateful Dead — has died … according to a statement posted to his official Instagram account.
According to the post … Weir passed away while surrounded by loved ones due to an underlying lung issue after he beat cancer.
Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.
Weir was diagnosed with cancer over the summer shortly before performing at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco for a series of shows.
The family goes on, “There is no final curtain here, not really. Only the sense of someone setting off again. He often spoke of a three-hundred-year legacy, determined to ensure the songbook would endure long after him. May that dream live on through future generations of Dead Heads. And so we send him off the way he sent so many of us on our way: with a farewell that isn’t an ending, but a blessing. A reward for a life worth livin’.”
When Weir was just 16 years old, he famously followed the sounds of a banjo into a Palo Alto, California music store where he found Jerry Garcia strumming the instrument.
The two played music together all night … and eventually decided to form the group which would later be known as The Grateful Dead. They — along with Ron “Pigpen” McKernan, Phil Lesh and Bill Kreutzmann — were the founding five members of the group.
Weir spent the next three decades — besides a brief period in late 1968 when he and McKernan were left off the band’s roster — playing rhythm guitar and occasionally singing songs for the Dead.
During his time in the band, the group released 13 studio albums, many singles and played sold-out shows all over the world widely attended by their devoted fanbase the “Deadheads.”
The Grateful Dead officially came to an end in 1995 after Garcia’s death … though Weir played with The Other Ones and The Dead — successive groups made up of Grateful Dead members — over the next two decades. Weir was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Grateful Dead in 1994.
Weir also struck out on his own by founding the music group Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros beginning in 2018 … famously playing a series of shows with symphony orchestras at the Kennedy Center in 2022.
Like many members of The Grateful Dead, Weird also cared about social issues — he was a longtime vegetarian and animal rights activist.
Weir is survived by his wife Natascha Münter and their two children, Monet, and Chloe who are asking for privacy at this time.
Timothy Busfield Had to Pay $150K For Unsuccessful Defamation Lawsuit … Regarding Child Sexual Assault
Published
Timothy Busfield‘s arrest warrant isn’t the first time he’s been embroiled in legal drama regarding allegations of child sexual abuse — a judge orderedthe actor to pay $150K for an unsuccessful defamation lawsuit years ago.
Here’s the deal … back in 1996, Busfield filed a lawsuit against the law firm Messerli & Kramer, claiming they made up a story about him sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl while shooting the 1994 movie “Little Big League,” according to a report from Deseret Newspublished at the time.
The alleged victim was an extra on the film, which Busfield starred in … and he reportedly settled the lawsuit for an undisclosed amount.
Busfield tried to sue the firm for defamation … and the judge ordered Busfield to pay the firm the amount it cost to defend themselves in the lawsuit.
As you know … prosecutors in New Mexico have issued a warrant for Busfield’s arrest, alleging he sexually abused two underage boys while filming “The Cleaning Lady.”
Police in Albuquerque told us they started investigating Busfield in late 2024 … and the warrant was issued Friday. We’re told cops hope the actor turns himself in.
Busfield is married to actress Melissa Gilbert … who spoke out against child sex abuse just a few weeks before the warrant was issued.
TMZ has reached out to Busfield’s camp for comment … so far, no word back.
Zara Larsson I Love Criminals and Abortions … And I F***ing Hate ICE!!!
Published
Zara Larsson‘s drawing a line in the sand … telling fans she loves a lot of controversial people and activities — but definitely not ICE.
The “Lush Life” hitmaker shared a list of her likes and dislikes on Instagram Saturday morning … telling fans she loves immigrants, queer and transgender people, promiscuous women, contraception, welfare, socialism — and even criminals.
As for the United States’ immigration enforcement agents … Larsson says she’s got no love for them — in fact, she “f***ing hates” ICE. Her statement, of course, comes as people have gathered to protest ICE’s controversial shooting of Renee Nicole Good by a member of the agency in Minnesota earlier this week.
The Swedish singer-songwriter clarified her distaste for the federal department in a follow-up post to Instagram … explaining she loves criminals because her man can’t come to the U.S. due to an old marijuana violation. Basically, Zara says her boyfriend got popped with a little weed back in the day, and the U.S.A. still won’t let him back in the country … forcing them to spend months apart each year.
Larsson then launches into a tirade against the nonviolent drug offenders — many of them Black and brown people — still locked up … adding she’d honestly rather have a crackhead smoking on her couch than an ICE agent in her house.
Interestingly, Zara will be headed to the U.S. soon to kick off the North American leg of her “Midnight Sun” tour. It’s safe to assume there’s one group of people she hopes doesn’t show up to her show!
