Bulls Riding Momentum After Milestone Victory
South Florida arrives in Birmingham fresh off a 58–49 win over Tulane on March 7, marking the program’s 800th all‑time victory and its 20th win of the season. Interim head coach Michele Woods‑Baxter remains the only active interim coach in Division I men’s or women’s basketball to reach 20 wins this year. The Bulls have now recorded 20 or more wins in 12 of the past 20 seasons, the most in the American Conference.
USF enters the tournament on a four‑game winning streak and has taken seven of its last eight. The defense has been dominant, holding Tulane to 28.1 percent shooting — the second straight opponent the Bulls have kept under 30 percent.
Davidson, Brito, and Mputu Power the Offense
Katie Davidson led the way against Tulane with 21 points, four rebounds, and two blocks, her fifth 20‑point performance of the season. Carla Brito and L’or Mputu each posted double‑doubles, marking the fourth time during conference play that the duo has accomplished the feat in the same game.
Series History
South Florida leads the all‑time series 3–2 and earned a 69–63 win in San Antonio on February 14. The Bulls carry a three‑game winning streak against UTSA into Thursday’s matchup.
