U.S. News & World Report also ranked several individual online programs at UF among the best.

For students pursuing college degrees online, there’s the University of Florida and then there’s everywhere else.

U.S. News & World Report issued its Best Online Programs rankings, naming UF as the best school in the nation for online bachelor’s degrees. The school also ranked No. 1 in the Best Online Bachelor’s in Business Programs and Best Online Bachelor’s Program for Veterans categories.

“UF’s No. 1 ranking reflects a commitment to academic excellence and intentional design in online education,” said Joe Glover, UF Interim Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. “Our faculty and staff design and offer online programs that are rigorous, engaging and focused on student success, ensuring learners receive an exceptional UF education regardless of location.”

Beyond the top rankings, other UF Online programs were ranked highly, including psychology which landed at No. 3 in U.S. News’ Best Online Bachelor’s for Psychology list. UF Online’s graduate degree program in education ranked No. 2 and its MBA program came in fifth.

U.S. News ranked schools based on metrics including student engagement, faculty credentials and training, peer assessments, student services and technology, and academic outcomes. Student engagement was weighted at 35% in the ranking methodology, making it the most important factor in an institution’s overall score. A full breakdown of UF’s score is available on U.S. News’ website.

“High-quality education is essential in today’s rapidly evolving economy,” said Brian Harfe, UF Associate Provost of Teaching and Technology. “UF’s diverse online degree programs meet students where they are while providing them with the knowledge and skills needed to advance their careers and contribute to their communities.”
