Tiger Woods just scored a small win in court — and it could mean he’s getting back on the move soon.
A Florida judge has permitted Woods to travel out of state following his recent DUI arrest … signing off on the motion on Wednesday after leaving the decision up to the court’s discretion, according to documents obtained by TMZ Sports.
It’s unclear why Tiger sought permission to travel outside of Florida.
Woods — who is facing DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a test charges — wasn’t present at the hearing. Instead, his attorney, Douglas Duncan, handled business … asking the court to allow the golf legend to leave Florida while the case plays out.
And the judge seems to have no objections as the motion was granted and signed … meaning Tiger’s not stuck in-state despite the legal drama hanging over him.
Tiger said Tuesday that he is “stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment” and focus on his health.
“This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery,” Woods said in his statement. “I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”
He previously completed an out-of-state private treatment program following his 2017 DUI arrest — perhaps the reason for this new request.
As we previously reported, Tiger entered a not guilty plea earlier Tuesday … after a rollover crash last Friday that led to his arrest. Tiger claims he was focused on his phone and radio before realizing the pickup truck in front of him had slowed down.
Deputies said Tiger showed “severe signs of impairment” after the accident — claiming he was sweaty, appeared lethargic, and had bloodshot and glassy eyes.
They said he also had two loose hydrocodone pills — used for severe pain — in his pocket.
Tiger’s legal fight is far from over … but at least he won’t be grounded while dealing with it.
