New video purportedly shows University of Pittsburgh student Sudiksha Konanki and Joshua Riibe, the person of interest in her disappearance case, hanging out separately at a bar just hours before she vanished.
Noticias SIN — a TV news station in the DR — obtained surveillance footage from the bar at Riu República Hotel in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, on March 6.

The video apparently captures Konanki in all-white clothes, with her back to the camera, walking toward a grassy area and leaning over, seemingly to vomit. She then strolls over to a friend and, at one point, excitedly jumps up and down.
Meanwhile, Noticias SIN identified a man hunched over the grass near Konanki as Riibe, who also appears to be retching. Riibe and Konanki never interact in the video.

The news station also acquired additional security footage allegedly capturing Konanki meandering around a hotel’s lobby with her friend before they eventually step out of frame.
Both videos were recorded around the time Konanki went missing in the early hours of March 6, after taking a stroll along the beach with Riibe, the last person seen with her. Cops say Konanki’s body has not been recovered, but they believe she may have drowned in the ocean and have not ruled out foul play.

Her clothes were found draped over a beach chair, leading investigators to believe she took a dip in the rough waters before going missing. Police have labeled Riibe a “person of interest” after he reportedly gave varying accounts of what happened under questioning.
Riibe has not been charged with a crime, but the authorities have pulled his passport so he can’t leave the country during the ongoing probe.

The U.S. hunting influencer at the center of the #WombatGate mess issued an apology — but it fell on deaf ears when she went off on the Australian government, calling them hypocrites for letting thousands of animals get killed every year.
Samantha Strable — AKA Sam Jones on IG — left the hosts of Australia’s Channel 10 fuming when she bailed on a scheduled interview. Instead, she sent them a pre-recorded video statement, in which she said she regretted pulling the baby wombat away from its mother in the original video last week.

After briefly owning up to her actions, Sam directed people’s attention to the government of the nation widely condemning her, claiming officials are funneling millions of Aussie tax dollars into the mass slaughter of native animals.
She slammed the hypocrisy as staggering, saying that while she regrets what she did on video, she refuses to be a scapegoat for a “far greater, far more uncomfortable reality.”
Her apology didn’t sit well with the hosts at all — they called it pathetic and vented it was cowardly to point fingers at the Australian government while hiding behind a pre-recorded video instead of facing them live.
FWIW, Sam’s not entirely off the mark — wombats are a protected species in Australia, but permits can still be granted to cull them if necessary.

Michael Lohan is waking up in a South Florida jail … after cops busted him on a probation violation related to his estranged wife Kate Major.
Sheriff’s deputies picked up Lindsay Lohan‘s dad Sunday evening in West Palm Beach on an arrest warrant obtained by his probation officer following a February incident in Harris County, Texas.
As we reported, Lohan was arrested there last month on the charge of Continuous Violence Against the Family — he allegedly went to the home where Kate lives with their sons, and assaulted her.
That arrest landed on his probation officer’s desk, which led to the arrest warrant in Florida. Lohan had been on probation there for a 2022 conviction for patient brokering connected to a rehab facility Michael operates.
Being on probation means he can’t violate any laws, and his Texas arrest was enough to trigger a violation.

Lohan’s attorney, Robert Gershman, tells TMZ, “For sure he did not violate probation. He has been obedient and responsible through his term of probation and we hope her honor will release him quickly. We deny the allegations by Kate that he assaulted her.”
Michael claims it’s Kate who’s been abusive to him, and he says he has videos to back it up.
Now, he can tell it to the judge … as they say.

‘Heartbroken’ over NCAA Tourney Snub

The West Virginia men’s basketball team was left out of the NCAA Tournament field, and the Mountaineers squad is “heartbroken” over the perceived snub, saying they’re flat-out better than some teams who made the cut!
WVU, after finishing the season 19-13 (with a 10-10 record in the Big 12), hoped — maybe even expected — to hear their names called during the Selection Show on Sunday, but it didn’t happen, and they’re crushed.
“Heartbroken for @WVUhoops,” AD Wren Baker said after the show. “I can’t comprehend this team being left out.”

“Our resume was better than several teams in the field and it’s a terrible travesty that we weren’t included.”
It wasn’t all fury from the AD … he did praise his players for the year they had.
“Let’s rally around these young men,” Baker said, “and let them know how proud we are of them!”
The team’s coach, Darian DeVries, also shared his disappointment, saying … “Obviously, we are extremely shocked, saddened and disappointed with not being selected for the NCAA Tournament. We strongly believe that we have a résumé that is worthy of an NCAA Tournament team.”
Like Baker, DeVries also praised his team.
“I am incredibly proud of this team and what they accomplished. They poured their hearts into this season and put all their collective efforts into making the NCAA tournament, and I believe they did that.”
As for why WVU didn’t get a spot in the 68-team field, NCAA Selection Committee Chair Bubba Cunningham spoke about their decision, claiming the season-ending injury of WVU’s star player, and coach’s son, Tucker DeVries, was a factor.
The 6-foot-7 guard — who averaged 21.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game this season — underwent shoulder surgery last month, and is done for the year.
“The hardest part of being on the committee is having to draw that line,” Cunningham said.
