Shumaker Advisors Federal lifts up with hire of Jodie Moxley-Ramos

Shumaker Advisors added to its federal lobbying team with the hiring of Jodie Moxley-Ramos, a senior political strategist with experience in the aviation and defense fields.

“Jodie’s extensive experience and respected relationships across Capitol Hill significantly strengthen our federal platform,” said Ryan Walker, Senior Vice President of Federal Affairs at Shumaker Advisors. “Her strategic insight and proven leadership further position the Shumaker Advisors Federal team to deliver impactful advocacy and results for our clients.”

Moxley-Ramos previously worked as a lobbyist for Airbus, working for a decade at the aviation company’s U.S. headquarters. There, she developed aerospace company Airbus’ national strategy on legislative, regulatory, trade, manufacturing and procurement issues for both commercial and defense aviation.

There, she worked on state and federal issues and served as the primary point of contact for Congress, the administration and key agencies. She also worked with the Alabama state government and stakeholders to develop an engineering facility and a final assembly line in the state.

She more recently worked as Vice President of Congressional Affairs at Ligado Networks, advising leadership on legislative and regulatory strategy involving aviation safety, spectrum policy and national security. Her work included developing a Capitol Hill engagement plan.

At Ligado, she managed a team of external consultants and also built alliances with other leading aviation and aerospace companies.

In the 1990s, she worked in politics, running scheduling and advance for Second Lady Tipper Gore during the 1996 presidential campaign.

She also previously worked with the League of Women Voters, The Freedom Forum, Edelman Public Relations, BAE Systems, U.S. Department of State, and the President’s Council on Y2K Conversion.

Shumaker Advisors said Moxley-Ramos’ hire marked a significant expansion since July of its Washington team, following the arrival of Mike Fedorchak as the leader of a bipartisan team in the nation’s capital. Fedorchak previously worked as North Dakota State Director for Americans for Prosperity.
