Shohei Ohtani put up arguably the greatest single-game performance in baseball history to send the Dodgers to the World Series … and now a one-of-a-kind baseball from the historic game is hitting the auction block!
Ken Goldin — from Goldin — swung by the TMZ offices on Monday with one of the coolest (and perhaps most valuable) pieces of sports memorabilia, the baseball Ohtani mashed in the seventh inning, his third home run of the game!
In addition to the homers, Shohei also pitched six scoreless innings, striking out 10!
Thanks to Ohtani’s mind-blowing performance, the Dodgers completed the sweep over the Brewers and advanced to the World Series … where they ultimately beat the Blue Jays in one of the most thrilling series ever.
“What we have is the most sought-after item from that game,” Ken told us of the piece, which could ultimately sell for a literal fortune.
“We sold the 50 home run ball for $4.4 million. This might challenge it for the most valuable baseball of all-time!”
It’s unclear exactly when the ball will hit the auction block on Ken’s site, but Goldin tells us the ball will be available for bidding when season 3 of his Netflix show, “King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch,” premieres on December 23.
“It’s the single greatest single game performance in history because he was the starting pitcher. He won the game, which is great, but he struck out 10. Six shutout innings, and he hit three home runs in the same game. Babe Ruth never did that.”
Check out the interview with Ken, who also explains how he got his hands on the historic ball.
Good luck, wealthy collectors!!!
