Scott Singer launches first ad of GOP Primary for CD 23
Former Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer just debuted the first ad in his Republican Primary bid for Florida’s 23rd Congressional District.
It aims to position him as the most prominent “America First” candidate in the Primary, which now boasts seven candidates vying for the chance to take on incumbent two-term Democratic U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz.
The ad, titled “America First Results,” opens with several broadcast personalities discussing and introducing Singer, whom one person describes as “one of the most popular Mayors in America.”
It follows Singer’s announcement last week that he raised more than $1.34 million in his first full quarter running for CD 23.
Official fundraising reports for the first quarter of 2026 are due Wednesday.
“The buzz about Scott Singer is real, and there are two words that describe Scott Singer: America first,” a voiceover says before the ad transitions to Singer himself speaking about America First priorities he led as Boca Raton’s top official and leader of the America First Mayor’s Council.
Singer’s ad, which stretches past the two-minute mark, repeatedly references President Donald Trump, the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement policies and an influx of New York residents and businesses to South Florida.
“Scott Singer’s conservative leadership means better jobs and lower taxes for Florida families,” the ad’s narrator says. “Scott Singer: the America First Mayor who’s building on President Trump’s America First agenda. Now he’s running for Congress. Join the Scott Singer team at ScottSingerUSA.com.”
Singer recently completed his final term as Mayor of Boca Raton, where he was first elected in 2018 and re-elected twice without losing a race.
During his tenure, he emphasized fiscal policy and municipal investment, including efforts to maintain what his camp described as the lowest property tax rate among full-service cities in Florida, while increasing spending on public safety and infrastructure.
His campaign is positioning his executive experience in local government as a key credential as he seeks to flip CD 23, a seat expected to draw significant attention in the 2026 cycle.
He drewnational attention this year after publicly criticizing New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and pitching Boca Raton as a relocation destination for New York City businesses.
CD 23 currently spans a northern, mostly coastal area in Broward and a section of South Palm Beach County. Democratic U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz, who has represented the district since January 2023, carried the Broward portion, which comprises the preponderance of the district, but lost Palm Beach to a significantly underfunded challenger by about 6 percentage points in 2024.
The Cook Political Report rates the 2026 CD 23 race as leaning Democratic (D+2). That’s the most competitive of any contest in the state, according to Cook. It could become even more competitive under a potential redistricting plan by Gov. Ron DeSantis — a noted cross-aisle ally of Moskowitz’s — and Republican legislative leaders, which may shift the district further north into Palm Beach.
Singer faces a crowded Republican Primary that includes six other GOP hopefuls, including former state Rep. George Moraitis and counterterrorism expert Joe Kaufman, who lost to Moskowitz by 6 points last year.
The Primary is Aug. 18, followed by the General Election on Nov. 3.
