Promising an upgraded retail experience, the new store layout has been designed with improved product displays, full-height ceilings and an immersive brand environment “that reflects Schuh’s commitment to style and innovation”.
As part of the redesign, the store has been equipped with state-of-the-art digital screens, enhancing the shopping experience with high-definition visuals that bring Schuh’s Together Hits Different campaign to life.
The store will also offer a “quieter shopping experience due to sensory needs”, with a quiet hour (10-11 am) every Wednesday with Schuh store staff trained in disability confidence.
To mark the milestone reopening event, the launch day is being co-partnered with sports brand New Balance with the store featuring a dedicated activation space and installation, showcasing new releases, brand icons and performance ranges, it said.
Located on the upper level next to Schuh kids, the upgraded store will offer a range of opening day perks and experiences including free custom shoe charms designed by Manchester-based artist Nots. Early visitors will also be presented with complimentary gift bags.
Together Hits Different campaign star and DJ Clara Rosa will make an appearance at the store opening with a live set, following a mix from Manchester-based DJ Yasmin Lauryn.
Damon Kirk, head of VM for Schuh, said: “This reopening is about more than just a fresh new look, it’s a reflection of our deep commitment to elevating the experience for every customer who walks through our doors. We’ve reimagined every detail of our Trafford store to ensure a smoother, more intuitive journey, empowering customers to explore with ease and confidence.
“This reopening marks another step in our ongoing dedication to raising the bar and setting new standards, ensuring the Trafford Centre experience is second to none.”
Kate Pearson, director of mall operations for Asset Management at Pradera Lateral, added: “Schuh’s investment in its new store is not only indicative of its success as a retailer, but also a wider movement in which we’re seeing brands offering the best possible customer experience, whether that’s through a store refit, experiential activations or enhanced loyalty schemes.”
