Proudly Reps Iranian Roots At L.A. Protest

Sam Asghari went all in for his roots … storming the streets of Los Angeles to stand loud, proud, and unmissable in support of the Iranian people.
In an IG video posted Sunday night, the Iranian-born model showed himself waving the Iranian flag shoulder to shoulder with massive crowds in L.A., home to one of the largest Iranian-American communities in the country.
Sam and the crowd gathered near the federal building in Westwood … making it clear they were pushing back against political repression and calling for regime change among all the protests and chaos that have erupted in Iran.
IYDK, protesters in Iran are demanding change amid a crushing economic crisis and brutal crackdowns … with human rights groups claiming more than 500 people have been killed in recent days.
The same terror very nearly played out in L.A. … ’cause among the powerful show of unity a man plowed a U-Haul truck through a group of demonstrators. Thankfully, no one was injured and the driver was arrested.

Blew .142 On Breath Test During Arrest
… Cops Say Cooper’s Bro Had Beer In Back Seat

Cooper DeJean‘s brother, Beckett, allegedly had a BAC well above the legal limit when he was arrested for operating while intoxicated over the weekend — cops say he blew a .142 on a breath test.
TMZ Sports has obtained 20-year-old DeJean’s arrest affidavit … with cops stating the former South Dakota defensive back was “unable to maintain lane” as he was driving his Chevy Malibu around 11:55 PM on Saturday. Once he was pulled over, the officer claimed “a strong odor of alcohol.” was evident.
The cop said as they searched his vehicle for a source of the odor, a case of beer was present in the backseat … and once questioned, DeJean admitted to drinking.
DeJean was taken to the Ida County Sheriff’s Office for field sobriety tests, which cops say he failed, and he was placed under arrest.
He blew into a DataMaster device to measure his BAC … and the results, according to cops, were .142, which is over the .08 legal limit.
In the docs, officials also say DeJean had bloodshot/watery eyes, smelled like alcohol and struggled with his balance during the arrest.
It was a bad weekend for the whole family … as Cooper’s Philadelphia Eagles lost to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

J Balvin‘s shared the Super Bowl Halftime Show stage with Bad Bunny before … but he’s not going to make a guest apperance next month when BB headlines … ’cause he told us so himself.
We got the Colombian singer in New York City and our photog asked if fans should be on the lookout for a suprise guest appearance during Bad Bunny’s halftime set at Super Bowl LX.
J Balvin and Bad Bunny performed together at the Super Bowl LIV halftime show back in 2020 when Jennifer Lopez and Shakira were the headliners … but he says don’t expect him to run it back with Bad Bunny this time.
There was some speculation J Balvin might get in the mix after he made a surprise reunion with Benito on stage in Mexico City last month for BB’s tour finale … but it ain’t happening.
Instead, J Balvin says he’s gonna be cheering Bad Bunny on from the sidelines … he’ll be at the Big Game, he just won’t be on the big stage.
Bad Bunny’s selection turned off a lot of folks, but J Balvin says it’s nothing new for Latino artists … and he’s expecting Bad Bunny to hit a home run here.

Nick Reiner’s Public Defender Needs to Lock In!!!

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Phaedra Parks — who is also a lawyer — put her legal analyst hat on for us … weighing in on just what is going on in Nick Reiner‘s murder trial in Los Angeles.
Remember … Nick’s high-powered attorney, Alan Jackson, dropped out and is being replaced by public defender Kimberly Greene.
So far, Jackson’s withdrawal hasn’t been fully explained, but Phaedra offered a plausible explanation when we caught her at LAX Friday.
Phaedra pointed out … “It’s unfortunate that he has to get a public defender, but obviously more than likely the trust was covering his legal fees, so I don’t know if there’s a conflict of interest for the victims to pay for the alleged assailant’s defense.”
While Greene comes with 19 years of experience, public defenders tend to be overloaded with cases, potentially putting her at a disadvantage.
As you know … Nick is charged with two counts of felony murder for allegedly stabbing his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, to death … and he could face the death penalty.
With Jackson out, the deck may be stacked against Greene and Nick, but Phaedra said Nick still deserves a fair trial.
Phaedra told us, “[Greene] is gonna have to read night and day, get her witnesses lined up and try to the best job she can.”
According to Phaedra, “It’s going to depend on the experts. A case is only as good as its facts.”
Nick next court date is set for February 23.
