Sabre is showing up at CES this year with a travel app that “isn’t a travel app.”
During the premier tech industry trade show, the company will debut an AI-powered tool it says will be a gamechanger for the travel industry. Users simply lay out the when and the where for their desired trip and the platform handles the rest, from planes, trains and automobiles to hotels and hostels.
Sabre emphasized that unlike most AI travel planning tools, its “Model Context Protocol” (MCP) tech is not merely a suggestion machine — it can actually plan and book complicated, multi-city itineraries and manage them end-to-end.
The company also says the platform will have travelers covered if something goes awry before — or even during — travel. It’s fully capable of navigating flight rebookings and adjusting hotel stays while keeping everything synced in real time.
It won’t wait for users to ask for help, either, but will diligently track trip itineraries to detect issues in advance before proactively approaching users with viable solutions.
That agency is what sets it apart from other AI travel tools, Sabre said, adding that most solutions currently on the market function more like inspiration engines or dressed-up search boxes.
Sabre said its MCP tech already works with 400-plus airlines, more than 50,000 travel agencies, a million properties and within 183 countries.
