Rick Scott launches video series spotlighting Florida entrepreneurs
U.S. Sen. Rick Scott has announced a series of online videos spotlighting the work of Florida entrepreneurs.
The “American Dream At Work” series shows the importance of small business in communities in terms of job creation and empowering citizens. The series was announced by his Senate Office.
“Growing up, my mom always told us how blessed we were to live in the greatest country in the world, where anybody willing to work hard could achieve their American Dream,” Scott said. “She was right — I worked hard, opened my first business, and turned my entire life around to live my dreams.”
Scott has often told his own story of growing up in poverty, then growing as an entrepreneur to run a major health care company, before winning election as a Governor and now a U.S. Senator.
But he said the American dream today feels further out of reach thanks to challenges with affordability and inflation.
“Unfortunately, it’s not as easy for someone growing up like I did to get ahead today. The failures of Washington politicians have created disastrous consequences for our country. Today, even our brightest minds and hardest workers are facing bigger barriers to success due to burdensome regulations and higher living costs,” Scott said.
“My new ‘American Dream at Work’ series spotlights the incredible entrepreneurs in our state who show that the American Dream is still alive and worth fighting for. I won’t stop fighting to Make Washington Work — which means shrinking government, cutting spending, cutting taxes, and supporting small businesses — to help families succeed, businesses grow and create jobs, and ensure every American can achieve their American Dream.”
Scott released a roughly one-minute trailer for the series that shows the Senator visiting lumber yards, recycling centers and restaurants around Florida.
“These are the places where people get a good paying job, communities come together and entrepreneurs live their American dream,” he says in the narration. “Everything is possible when you work hard and when you have a God with you.”
