President Trump might be eyeing a fresh round of firings in his administration after he gave the ax to Attorney General Pam Bondi, according to reports.
The Atlantic and Politico published articles Thursday night outlining Trump’s next cabinet members to possibly get the boot. Here’s the list: Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer, FBI Director Kash Patel and Army Secretary Dan Driscoll.
One senior Trump aide told Politico … the potential firings are targeting officials who have underperformed and generated too much negative attention.
The Atlantic reports Trump was reluctant at the start of his second term to remove cabinet members from their posts, seeing the move as capitulating to the democrats. But now, the president has been shedding support over the Iran war, which has changed the political calculus, according to the outlet.
And just yesterday, Trump made his biggest cabinet change to date, firing Bondi — allegedly over her perceived poor performance in handling the Epstein Files. Deputy AG Todd Blanche has now taken the reins of the Justice Department.
In early March, Trump fired U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, replacing her with former Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin.
Meanwhile, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth on Thursday ousted Army Chief of Staff, General Randy George.
