The 2026 Premier League Darts rolls into Antwerp tomorrow for Night 2 of the 17-week extravaganza. With Michael van Gerwen capturing the opening-night victory, we take a look ahead to Thursday’s action at the AFAS Dome.
Quarter-Final Line-Ups, Form and Predictions
Night 2 in Antwerp sees another stacked quarter-final line-up, with the eight-player format guaranteeing high-quality clashes from the outset. With valuable league points on offer, early momentum could prove crucial as the race for the top four begins to take shape.
Luke Littler v Luke Humphries
Luke’s Littler and Humphries rarely fail to provide an exciting match and this should be no different. Last year’s Premier League winner Humphries lost a phenomenal World Masters final at the start of the month to ‘The Nuke’, and the teenage two-time world champion will be wanting to bounce back from last week’s quarter-final exit as quickly as possible.
Humphries will want to assert himself against his biggest rival, so it should make for a mini classic – but one that Littler may just edge.
Prediction: Littler 6-5
Michael van Gerwen v Josh Rock
‘Mighty Mike’ should have been coming into this full of confidence after winning on opening night, but having just suffered a 6–0 battering at the hands of Gerwyn Price in Players Championship 2, he may well be feeling a little shaky.
Rock, in his debut league season, will be looking to get past the quarter-final stage as soon as possible to prove he can compete with the very best in the game. If MvG can reproduce the form he showed in Week 1 however, he should have enough to get past the Northern Irishman.
Prediction: van Gerwen 6-4
Jonny Clayton v Stephen Bunting
Clayton lost in the semi-finals last week and will be looking to make a second successive appearance in the last four as he faces a man many were surprised to see included in this year’s competition, Stephen Bunting.
Bunting took nine weeks to register a league win last year and finished bottom of the table. After losing last week, he will be desperate to get off the mark much earlier this time around, but he will have to work hard to get past the dogged Welshman.
Prediction: Clayton 6-3
Gerwyn Price v Gian van Veen
Price will be full of confidence after his unbelievable 6–0 win over Van Gerwen in the Players Championship, where he averaged a staggering 117.
Van Veen, however, will not shirk any challenge, having taken to the Premier League stage with fearless composure, beating Luke Littler on his way to the final on his debut appearance. This one will be fun.
Prediction: Price 6-5
Who will win Week 2?
Littler, who faces very little in the way of setbacks, is often magnificent when he does encounter one. He will expect to progress to the final, with MvG perhaps best placed to stop him.
It’s hard to ignore just how good Price was in dismantling Van Gerwen in the Players Championship, so if he can get past Van Veen, he should have every chance of reaching the final.
If it is Littler v Price in the final, the certainty is that it will be played at breakneck speed. Littler will be in no mood to mess around and, if he hits top gear early, it could turn into a quick and one-sided contest. But if Price scores heavily and is clinical on the doubles, he has every chance of getting over the line. It feels like a flip of a coin – as it so often is – but this week that coin may just fall in Price’s favour.
Week 2 winner prediction: Gerwyn Price 6-5 or Littler 6-1
