SEBRING, Fla. — Porsche Penske Motorsport has turned the unofficial “36 Hours of Florida” into a two‑year showcase of dominance. After sweeping the Rolex 24 At Daytona in January, the team returned to Sebring International Raceway and delivered another commanding 1‑2 finish in the 74th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring .
The No. 7 Porsche 963 driven by Felipe Nasr, Julien Andlauer and Laurin Heinrich once again proved untouchable, adding a Sebring victory to their Rolex 24 triumph and extending Porsche’s early‑season mastery of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
The No. 7 Porsche has now won all four Florida endurance races across the last two seasons, with Nasr becoming the first driver to claim back‑to‑back overall “36 Hours of Florida” titles. The Penske Porsches controlled the race from the outset, leading 273 of 343 laps on Sebring’s notoriously punishing 3.74‑mile circuit.
A fierce intra‑team battle defined the final hours. Nasr and Kevin Estre traded the lead multiple times before Nasr made the decisive move with 64 minutes remaining, diving inside Estre at Turn 17 to reclaim control. He held steady through the final pit cycle and a late restart, winning by 1.515 seconds.
Cadillac and BMW Challenge, but Porsche Holds Firm
While the No. 31 Whelen Cadillac and No. 24 BMW M Team WRT entries mounted late charges, both faded in the closing stint. That opened the door for the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac to steal the final podium spot behind the two Porsches.
Porsche Sweeps GTD PRO With Manthey’s First IMSA Win
Porsche’s dominance extended beyond GTP. Manthey Racing captured its first IMSA victory with the No. 911 Porsche 911 GT3 R, delivering a 1‑2 finish for the brand in GTD PRO. Klaus Bachler earned his third Sebring class win in four years, joined by Thomas Preining and Ricardo Feller.
AO Racing’s No. 77 Porsche finished second after a strong run in its pink “Roxy” livery, while Corvette Racing completed the podium.
United Autosports Delivers LMP2 1‑2 Finish
The LMP2 class produced another sweep, this time for United Autosports USA. The No. 2 ORECA of Mikkel Jensen, Philip Fayer and Hunter McElrea led home the sister No. 22 entry after a clean, consistent run. Tower Motorsports rounded out the podium.
Ferrari Snatches GTD Victory in Final‑Lap Thriller
The GTD class delivered the race’s most dramatic finish. Antonio Fuoco charged from seventh to first in the final 15 minutes, overcoming a penalty and a warning to put the No. 21 AF Corse USA Ferrari 296 GT3 EVO in victory lane. His decisive pass came on the final lap, overtaking the No. 27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin through the Turn 10–12 complex.
IMSA Heads West to Long Beach
After a grueling Sebring weekend, the WeatherTech Championship shifts to the streets of Long Beach on April 17–18, where the GTP and GTD classes return to action.
