Police union ‘proud to endorse’ Terrance Freeman in HD 12

The political veteran earns key support.

Jacksonville’s local police union is backing City Councilman Terrance Freeman as he runs to replace term-limited Rep. Wyman Duggan in House District 12.

“Terrance Freeman has always stood with the men and women who put on the badge and serve our communities every day,” said Randy Reaves, President of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5-30.

“He understands that public safety starts with supporting law enforcement, ensuring first responders have the resources they need, and standing up for the rule of law. The Fraternal Order of Police is proud to endorse him for State Representative because we know he will continue fighting for safer neighborhoods and the officers who protect them,” Reaves added.

Freeman said the endorsement means a lot to him.

“These men and women serve on the front lines every day. I’ve stood with our law enforcement officers in City Hall, and in Tallahassee, I’ll continue fighting to ensure they have the resources, respect, and support they deserve. When we back the badge and uphold the rule of law, we make our communities stronger, safer, and more secure for every family.”

Freeman, who is unopposed currently, has raised nearly $445,000 combined between his campaign account and his political committee, For the Future We Want.

He was appointed to fill the unexpired term of a member of the City Council who had legal issues in 2018. Freeman was then elected at large in 2019 and 2023 in his own right.

HD 12 spans the St. Johns River in southern Duval County. It is a seat drawn with a Republican registration advantage.
