Newly released photos of Anne Burrell‘s death scene show dozens of pills and medicine bottles scattered across the bathroom floor, according to a new report.
The New York City Department released the photos to People, and according to the outlet, the images depict dozens of pills in a dish near the toilet bowl, as well as bottles of Advil, Zyrtec, Motrin, and a ValuMeds allergy-relief antihistamine lying sideways on the bathroom floor.” There are also reportedly cigarette butts and a lighter on the floor.
In addition to the photos, People obtained videos of the late Food Network star walking with her husband, Stuart Claxton, through their Brooklyn apartment complex’s exterior gate and to the elevator hours before she took her own life.
In one video, Anne is reported to be leaning against the wall while waiting for the elevator to arrive. Once inside the elevator, she reportedly leans against the wall and crosses her hands, and has her head turned away from Stuart as he appeared to speak to her.
According to People, Stuart gestures toward her and “she then looks like she’s about to say something but stops herself.”
We broke the news — Stuart is the one who found Anne unresponsive and lying on the floor of their shower during an early morning in June 2025. We later confirmed her manner of death was suicide, and the cause of death was “acute intoxication due to the combined effects of diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine, and amphetamine,” per the NYC Office of Chief Medical Examiner.
The NYPD said an investigator found a “suicidal note” in the primary bedroom of Anne and Stuart’s Brooklyn home, plus “suicidal” journal entries on a bed in the same room.
She was only 55 years old when she died.
