Peter Schorsch to deliver behind-the-scenes insight at Argus Foundation luncheon

Florida Politics Publisher Peter Schorsch will be a guest speaker at the Argus Foundation Annual Luncheon next week, offering an insider’s look at Florida politics.

The event is Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Michael’s on East, located at 1212 S. E. Ave. in Sarasota.

Schorsch is considered one of Florida’s most influential political commentators. He serves as Publisher and Executive Editor for Florida Politics, and also publishes INFLUENCE Magazine and the daily morning newsletter Sunburn, which is a must-read morning briefing of politics, policy and influence shaping Florida and beyond.

Schorsch and Florida Politics’ work has been featured in major national publications including The Washington Post, The New York Times, CNN and more. Former CNN reporter, analyst and columnist Chris Cillizza, who remains an acclaimed political commentator, recently named Schorsch one of the best political reporters in Florida.

“Peter Schorsch is one of the most impactful media figures in Florida politics,” said Christine Robinson, Executive Director of the Argus Foundation. “His unique vantage point at the intersection of politics, policy, and media gives him unmatched insight into the forces shaping our state. We are thrilled to welcome him as our first guest speaker of the new year.”

The luncheon opens Thursday at 11:30 a.m. for a networking session, followed by lunch and a question and answer session at noon. The luncheon also features the Argus Foundation’s annual organizational update and leadership recognition. The Foundation is also honoring Todd Morton, owner of Morton’s Gourmet Market, for his service as Board President in 2025, while welcoming the new 2026 President, Craig Steinhoff, the Principal-in-Charge of the Sarasota office of accounting firm HBK.
