Beyond his sporting background, Tavell was selected for his international leadership across product management, product development, and branding, underpinned by years of professional experience in countries including Sweden, Norway, the US, Switzerland, and Germany.

The executive, who competed internationally for the professional teams Cyclepro and Multivan-Merida, has spent the past 14 years at Helly Hansen. Before that, he honed his management skills in the outdoor sector with roles at leading brands including Red Bull and Craft.

“Dynafit represents a unique opportunity for me to combine my interests and sporting passions within a brand universe dedicated to mountain athletes,” said Philip Tavell.

With turnover of nearly €100 million, Dynafit is the second-largest brand in the Oberalp stable, after Salewa.

Dynafit has evolved from a brand specialising in ski mountaineering into a benchmark for mountain athletes, from trail running to mountaineering, in more than 50 countries worldwide. A year ago, it moved its operations to the new Speed Factory headquarters in Kiefersfelden, Germany.

The Bolzano-based Oberalp Group has more than 1,200 employees worldwide and also owns the brands Pomoca, Wild Country, Evolv, and LaMunt, as well as serving as the exclusive distribution partner for eight international sportswear brands.
