Nick Reiner — who is charged with killing his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner — appeared in court today for the first time since the couple’s unspeakable murders.
Nick was seated behind glass in a Los Angeles courtroom Wednesday for a very brief appearance … and he did not enter a plea. His arraignment was continued to Jan. 7 … he remains held without bail. The L.A. Times reports Nick was wearing a suicide-prevention smock in the courtroom.
Prosecutors have charged Nick with two counts of murder with the special circumstance allegation of multiple murders. He also faces a special allegation that he personally used a dangerous and deadly weapon … a knife.

Nick’s attorney, Alan Jackson, told the court it’s “too early” for Nick to enter a plea … and he said the defense and prosecutors were in agreement on pushing back Nick’s arraignment until next month. The L.A. Times reports two other lawyers appeared with Jackson and Reiner Wednesday morning.

Nick’s first day in court was originally set for Tuesday, but was taken off the books because he didn’t have medical clearance. Despite the court appearance being delayed, there was still a major update to the case Tuesday when Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced Nick has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
Hochman added that if Nick is convicted, the death penalty is on the table.
TMZ broke the story … sources told us Nick was acting very strange Saturday at Conan O’Brien‘s Christmas party … not interacting much with guests, and his attire was out of place … Nick was moping around in a shabby sweatshirt and seemed high on something. We’re told Nick got into a loud argument with Rob at the party, and Rob left with Michele shortly after.
Nick lived at home with his parents, but he opted to check into a hotel at around 4 AM Sunday, using his credit card. The reservation was made for just a day, but Nick never formally checked out.
When the staff came into his room later Sunday morning, they found the shower “full of blood” and blood on the bed.
That afternoon, Rob and Michele were found dead in their Brentwood home with multiple stab wounds. The couple’s daughter, Romy, is the one who discovered their bodies and called 911. She told police her brother Nick was “dangerous” and should be considered a suspect.
Nick was arrested about 6 hours after police responded to the call. He’s held on suicide watch at Men’s Central Jail in L.A. without bond.

Former NFL player Myles Jack was arrested after a bizarre incident at a home in Texas on Tuesday … when cops say the linebacker broke out of a second-story window and fell to the ground before being taken into custody.
According to the Frisco Police Department, officers responded to a welfare concern around 5:40 AM … and when they got to the scene, gunshots were heard inside the residence.
Officers established a perimeter and evacuated other homes in the area … and said at one point in the incident, they observed a man later identified as 30-year-old Jack break a window, climb out, and plummet to the ground.
Jack was taken into custody at 7:12 AM and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening injuries he suffered from the fall.
Cops noted no other individuals were in the home at the time of the incident.
Jack is being charged with “deadly conduct – discharge of a firearm,” a third-degree felony … and “discharge of a firearm in certain municipalities,” a misdemeanor.
Jack was a second-round pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016 … and later joined the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022.

Suspended For Oral Sex Joke

The Philadelphia Flyers have suspended radio play-by-play broadcaster Thomas Saunders for making an inappropriate comment while on the airwaves … when a hot mic picked up a joke about oral sex.
It all went down during the third period of the Flyers’ 5-3 loss Thursday night. After an icing call, Saunders threw the broadcast to a commercial break … the only problem was it didn’t happen.
Seemingly, as someone in the booth went down to the floor, Saunders was heard saying, “While you’re down there, would ya mind blowing me?”
“I think we’re still on the air, Tim,” another person said.
Based on the boisterous laugh he let out, it sounded as if Saunders thought he was joking, before realizing it wasn’t April Fool’s Day.
“No we’re not, are we?” Saunders asked.
Unfortunately for him … they were — and his bosses were listening.
On Friday, the Flyers confirmed they were aware of the incident and announced that the radio network and the team would be issuing the suspension.
“These remarks do not reflect the standards of conduct or values we expect from anyone associated with our organization,” the Flyers said.
“Effective immediately, the Flyers, alongside our radio partners 97.5 The Fanatic, have issued a two-game suspension while we address this matter with all parties involved.”

Being caught on hot mics is nothing new, but this incident is small potatoes compared to the Thom Brennaman incident from the 2020 MLB season … when he used a homophobic slur live on air.
Saunders will miss the Flyers’ next two games against the New York Rangers and the Vancouver Canucks … and will be eligible to return when Philly takes on the Blackhawks in Chicago.
Here’s hoping he keeps it PG when the headset’s on moving forward … just in case.
