Mulberry puts offcuts to good use with sustainable dog collection

Two trends — the growing popularity of luxury pet products and the move to more sustainable production — have come together in Mulberry’s latest collection.

Mulberry

This May, it releases a new capsule collection, designed for dogs and inspired by the lifestyle brand’s British roots – “whether the rolling hills of Somerset or the city parks of London”.

Priced from £150, the company said the eight-piece collection “reflects Mulberry’s ongoing commitment towards sustainability”, with the capsule composed of leather offcuts and made in The Rookery, one of its two carbon-neutral Somerset factories. All leather used is from environmentally accredited tanneries, a feature across all Mulberry collections.

The hero piece is a toy dog carrier in Oxblood, limited to just 50 pieces, which features an opening for the head and a secure internal strap. There are also two different leashes – a handheld leash for longer walks in the countryside, and a crossbody, designed for hands-free city walks – and a dog collar in multiple sizes.

Two “pooch-shaped” lanyards, a Lily treat bag, and a Bayswater waste disposal carrier complete the canine collection.
