In what’s increasingly becoming a badge of honour for sustainable brands, Dutch menswear label Mr Marvis has joined the ranks of fashion retailers achieving B Corp certification status.

Adding to its achievement, Mr Marvis also becomes one of the first Benelux fashion companies to pass B Corp’s updated global framework B Lab.

The new framework, which replaces the previous points-based system with mandatory requirements across seven key impact areas, including Human Rights and Climate Action, saw Mr Marvis implement several operational and supply chain initiatives.

These included developing and publishing a formal Climate Action Plan; Completing Human Rights and Environmental Impact assessments with European manufacturing partners, with it publishing a formal Human Rights Policy, and launching a publicly accessible grievance mechanism; and co-chairing the B Corp ‘Sustainable Fashion Circle’, “a collective of apparel brands sharing knowledge to drive industry-wide progress.”

Mr Marvis’s sustainability lead, Sophie Brada, said: “The updated B Corp framework raises the bar for businesses worldwide. Because companies can no longer cherry-pick where to focus, every part of the business is put under the microscope. Passing this audit was an intensive process for our teams. It shows that our foundations are solid, while giving us a clear blueprint for where we need to improve heading into 2029.”

Under B Corp guidelines, the brand will also undergo its next audit cycle in 2029.
