Outdoor retailer Mountain Warehouse has opened its seriously upsized store at premium designer outlet village Caledonia Park in Scotland.
With an extra 70% space, the relocated 6,276 sq ft store now sits next to M&S. The new store stocks the retailer’s full range, from outerwear to camping equipment, as well as items from the Animal active lifestyle brand, “creating a wider, more outdoor-inspired shopping experience”, it said.
Sean Riley, head of Acquisitions at Mountain Warehouse, said: “This upsize and opening was the natural next step for us at Caledonia Park as we continue to grow and connect with more customers.”
It’s also another success story for Caledonia Park operator Railpen, as the expansion “reflects further commitment to one of the leading retailers within the centre, following the destination’s strong performance so far this year”.
It said year-to-date sales are up 11% compared to 2024, boosted by a “raft of significant renewals”, while sportswear and outdoor sales in particular “have surged 16% year-to-date compared to 2024, underscoring the category’s role as a powerhouse of growth and the continued demand it generates from visitors across the region”.
It added that Caledonia Park’s strong performance has driven those brand renewals and attracted leading retailers such as Superdry and Berghaus, “who have reaffirmed their commitment to the location”. Recent new openings also include Jack & Jones and French Connection.
Maria Averkina, Asset & Development manager at Railpen, added: “Our destination continues to excel because we understand our customers and consistently meet their needs. As a result, we’re achieving our strongest performance to date, reinforcing Caledonia Park as the premium designer outlet village in Scotland.”
