Law enforcement continues to fall in behind Byron Donalds’ bid to succeed term-limited Ron DeSantis as Governor.
The Republican Congressman from Naples is rolling out another wave of endorsements from county Sheriffs, with 28 from all parts of Florida now backing the Donald Trump-endorsed candidate.
Baker County Sheriff Scotty Rhoden is among them.
“I’ve spent more than 30 years serving the people of Baker County, from my early days as a corrections officer to deputy, narcotics investigator, and now as Sheriff. I’ve seen what real leadership looks like, and Byron Donalds has it,” Rhoden said.
“President Trump’s endorsement says it all: Byron is the proven conservative leader Florida needs. He’s never wavered in his support for law enforcement or the values that keep our communities safe. As Governor, he’ll stand with the men and women on the front lines, defend our freedoms, and make sure Florida remains a state where law and order prevail. I’m proud to stand with Byron Donalds for Governor.”
Walton County Sheriff Michael Adkinson is also backing Donalds.
“Trump-endorsed Byron Donalds is a leader who understands what it takes to keep Florida safe. He’s unapologetically pro-law enforcement and has the backbone to stand up for what’s right,” Adkinson said.
“As a former President of the Florida Sheriffs Association, I’ve seen firsthand how critical it is to have a Governor who respects the men and women who wear the badge. Byron Donalds has always stood shoulder to shoulder with law enforcement, supporting the tools, training, and policies that keep our communities secure. As Governor, I know Byron will back the blue, protect our families, and make sure Florida remains a place where law and order come first.”
The latest round of Sheriff endorsements also includes Columbia’s Wallace Kitchings, Escambia’s Chip Simmons, Gilchrist’s Bobby Schultz, Glades’ David Hardin, Hamilton’s Brian Creech, Highlands’ Paul Blackman, Holmes’ John Tate, Lake’s Peyton Grinnell, Sarasota’s Kurt Hoffman, Suwannee’s Sam St. John and Washington’s Kevin Crews.
“I am incredibly honored to have the support of Sheriffs from across Florida,” Donalds said upon accepting the first wave of Sheriff endorsements.
“As Governor, I will be 100% committed to law and order and keeping Florida the safest state in the nation. I will stand in lockstep with our Sheriffs and law enforcement as we work to protect Florida from criminal illegal aliens, keep drugs off our streets, and implement strong public safety laws to protect our families.”
