Marco Rubio second, Ron DeSantis fourth in New Hampshire GOP 2028 Primary

The next Presidential Election is right around the corner.

A new Emerson College poll says two Florida men would have ground to make up in the Granite State should they run for President in 2028.

But as has been the case with most recent surveys of the potential GOP field, Secretary of State Marco Rubio is again better positioned than Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Emerson’s survey of the open vote in the first-in-the-nation Primary state shows Vice President JD Vance dominating the field, with 43% support.

Rubio’s 18% is good for second place, and offers the latest suggestion that the former Senator from Florida, who ran for President in 2016, may be primed for a reprise.

DeSantis is mired at 5%, just as he was in a poll from St. Anselm College this month. Even former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley is doing better, with 6% support.

With just months left in his term, DeSantis continues to elicit questions about his next move. As he said during an event in West Palm Beach on Wednesday, he’s not making any firm commitments to run or stay out of the fray.

“Doing things nationally, all this other stuff; you know, who knows? Things change so fast in this day and age. Two months ago seems like a lifetime ago. Think of all the new things we’re talking about right now with what’s going on in the world and everything just in the last two months. And so who knows how all this stuff evolves?”

The poll was conducted March 21-23 and has a margin of error of 2.9 percentage points.
