Magic picks DAZN as a streaming partner for 2026-2027

DAZN HOPES TO SAVE REGIONAL SPORTS

Orlando’s WRDQ TV 27, WFTV Channel 9 Previously Named Over‑the‑Air Broadcast Partners

The Orlando Magic have added a major piece to their 2026‑27 media strategy, announcing that DAZN will serve as the team’s exclusive direct‑to‑consumer streaming partner. All regular season games, excluding national exclusives, will stream on DAZN within the Magic’s local territory, giving fans a modern, flexible way to watch the team throughout the season.

The announcement follows the Magic’s earlier decision to name WRDQ TV 27 and WFTV Channel 9 as their over‑the‑air broadcast partners. Together, DAZN and Cox Media Group form a two‑platform approach designed to maximize reach, accessibility, and fan engagement.

Magic President of Business Operations Charlie Freeman said the partnership strengthens the team’s media footprint. He emphasized that DAZN will deliver live games, replays, pregame and postgame coverage, and original programming, complementing the consistency of WRDQ, WFTV and WMOR TV in Tampa.

DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev said the Magic partnership reflects DAZN’s strategy of transforming how fans follow their local teams. He noted that fans want a simple, reliable way to watch their favorite team, and DAZN’s technology platform paired with the Magic’s strong local presence will create a service that expands reach and sets a new standard for team‑to‑fan connection.

A New Streaming Experience for Magic Fans

Later this month, DAZN will launch a team‑branded subscription service featuring live games, alternative feeds, and original content. The DAZN app is available on nearly every connected device — smart TVs, tablets, gaming consoles, streaming boxes, laptops, and desktops — making it easy for fans to watch Magic basketball wherever they choose.

The Magic subscription will be available as a standalone product or as an add‑on for existing DAZN subscribers. Fans can begin the season with a free seven‑day trial before selecting the plan that fits their viewing habits.

A Monthly Pass will cost $19.99, while a Season Pass will be priced at $119.99. Season ticket holders will receive a 20 percent discount on Season Pass subscriptions, with additional promotions offered throughout the season.

DAZN will also offer Season Pass Ultimate and Monthly Pass Ultimate options at $139.99 per season and $24.99 per month. Ultimate subscribers will receive a one‑time 20 percent discount at OrlandoMagicShop.com, plus access to additional concurrent streams, alternate feeds, camera angles, and multiview capability.

Broadcast Team Returns for 2026‑27

Dante Marchitelli returns as the full‑time play‑by‑play voice of the Magic, joined again by former Magic forward Jeff Turner as analyst. Kendra Douglas enters her fourth season as team reporter, continuing her role across both broadcast and streaming platforms.

A Unified Media Strategy for the Magic

With DAZN providing a modern streaming experience and WRDQ/WFTV delivering broad over‑the‑air access, the Magic have built a comprehensive media plan for the 2026‑27 season. Fans will have more ways than ever to watch the team, whether at home, on the go, or across multiple devices.
