Lois Frankel, Emily Gregory back August Mangeney for HD 93

Lawyer August Mangeney’s bid to flip House District 93 back to blue now has the backing of a sitting Congresswoman and the Sunshine State’s most recently elected state Representative.

U.S. Rep. Lois Frankel and Rep.-elect Emily Gregory have both endorsed Mangeney, a fellow Democrat who is running for House District 93.

Frankel, a former state lawmaker and West Palm Beach Mayor who has represented Palm Beach County in Washington since 2013, when she supplanted Republican Allen West, said Mangeney’s focus on kitchen-table issues will resonate with voters.

“August understands that families are feelings squeezed and want leaders who will focus on lowering costs, protecting public education, and standing up for our communities,” she said in a statement.

“He brings a strong record of advocacy and a deep commitment to public service, and I know he will be an effective, results-driven voice for the people of District 93.”

Gregory scored an upset win last week in a Special Election for House District 87, which includes President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. Her victory over a better-funded GOP opponent with significantly more funding and institutional support, drew national headlines and tentative predictions of a blue wave in November.

Mangeney is well-suited to be part of that deluge, according to Gregory, who described him as someone who “leads with integrity, works hard, and understands that this job is about delivering for everyone he represents — no matter their party.”

“I know what it takes to flip a seat from Republican to Democrat, and August has what it takes,” she said in a statement.

“He’s focused on what really matters: lowering costs for families, strengthening our public schools, and making government work again for the people it serves. August has the judgment, the work ethic, and the commitment to bring people together and get things done, and I know he’ll be a strong voice for our community in Tallahassee.”

The nods from Frankel and Gregory join others Democratic Sens. Lori Berman, Shevrin Jones and Tina Scott Polsky, and Reps. Dan Daley and Kelly Skidmore.

He said he is “honored” by the added support.

“This vote of confidence from Congresswoman Frankel is extremely meaningful as I work to follow in her footsteps of dedicated public service. Emily has inspired so many Democrats with her hard work ethic and ability to connect with voters on the issues that matter most, and she proved that voters are hungry for change,” he said in a statement.

“People are demanding leaders who focus on results and bring communities together rather than focusing on the divisive culture war politics that have dominated headlines. That’s exactly the campaign we’re building here in District 93.”

Mangeney remains the only Democrat running to unseat Republican Rep. Anne Gerwig, a former Wellington Mayor who flipped the HD 93 seat red in 2024 by 356 votes — a 0.38-percentage-point margin.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris won the district by 0.76 points.

The race to represent HD 93 spanning Wellington, Greenacres, parts of Lake Worth Beach and a section of unincorporated Palm Beach County is likely to be among the most watched contests in the 2026 election cycle.
