U.S. Rep. Kat Cammack just raised more than $1 million at a fundraiser hosted at Mar-a-Lago.
The Gainesville Republican saw more than 100 people attend the event, including House Majority Leader Tom Emmer and U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds, a close legislative ally and the current front-runner for Governor. And of course, it was held at the Palm Beach resort listed as the home residence of President Donald Trump.
“The swamp survives on complacency, and tonight proves we are done playing defense,” Cammack said. “We are here to disrupt the status quo, drain the bureaucracy of its power, and take this country back for the American people, and we are just getting started.”
Cammack’s campaign staff stressed the magnitude of the fundraising effort, which set a record for most dollars raised by Cammack at a single event.
“Last Thursday’s event was more than a fundraising milestone, it was a statement. Raising over one million dollars in a single night reflects the confidence donors have in Representative Kat Cammack’s leadership, her record of results, and her unwavering commitment to serving Floridians,” said Jessica Norfleet, Cammack’s Campaign Finance Director.
“As a sitting Member of Congress, Kat continues to show she’s not just prepared to fight for her constituents — she’s already delivering. This historic show of support sends a clear message: her continued momentum is real, her coalitions of donors in Florida and across the nation are strong, and she’s building the kind of infrastructure and leadership foundation that not only endures, but expands for whatever the future might hold.”
Emmer praised Cammack, a three-term incumbent first elected in 2020, as a leader within the GOP caucus in Washington.
“Kat Cammack is a fighter. She doesn’t back down, and she makes real sacrifices to do this job,” Emmer said. “We’ve had enough of the hand wringers and the defeatist class. The other side is still on the wrong side of every 80-20 issue. They don’t have a leader, and they don’t have a message, but Kat does.”
That signals the increasing influence that Cammack, a former House staffer, wields on the Hill and on the trail. The 37-year-old lawmaker recently co-founded the Republican Women’s Caucus.
“For decades, independent women have been talked to about just one issue: abortion,” Cammack said. “But women care about far more than that. Strong borders, fiscal responsibility, a strong military and affordability — these issues matter every single day.”
The event also showed her ties with Donalds, who Trump endorsed for Governor last year.
“In a town where too many people want to tweet instead of govern, Kat Cammack lives in reality and gets the job done,” Donalds said.
“When it was time to secure the border, protect Florida, and stop Joe Biden’s agenda, Kat Cammack was in the room doing the work for the people of Florida.”
Cammack, who last year was considered by Gov. Ron DeSantis for a Senate position, made clear she has work to do in Washington.
“When it comes down to it, the fight that Byron, myself and so many of our colleagues are in isn’t for us,” Cammack said. “It’s for your children and your grandchildren. What has happened to our nation and their future is fundamentally unfair, and we are not going to accept it.”
