The judge who reduced Karmelo Anthony‘s bond this week is getting some added security, TMZ Sports has learned, after law enforcement said she’s been the recipient of threats following her key decision in the murder case.
The Collin County Sheriff’s Office told us Tuesday it’s beefed up protection around Judge Angela Tucker in the wake of her Monday choice to lower the alleged H.S. track meet killer’s bail from $1 million to $250,000.
The CCSO said “court staff and concerned citizens” reported the menacing remarks made against the official … and now, its team of investigators, as well as the FBI are probing the matter.
Additionally, the CCSO told us it’s on the hunt for any party who has released private and personal information about the judge to the public.
“If the individual responsible is identified,” the CCSO said, “potential charges could include Unlawful Disclosure of a Residence Address or Telephone Number and Obstruction or Retaliation.”
It’s unclear exactly what the contents of the comments made against Tucker were … but the judge reportedly turned her X page private shortly after Monday’s hearing, presumably due to them.
An attorney for Anthony — the 17-year-old who’s facing one count of first-degree felony murder after he allegedly stabbed Austin Metcalf during a dispute over a seat on April 2 — had argued to Tucker a $1 million bond was unnecessary … due his client’s lack of criminal activity history.
However, prosecutors asked for it to remain in place, calling it the standard for murder cases in Collin County.

After lowering it, Tucker ordered Anthony to wear an ankle monitor and be confined to his home.
Anthony did not speak to reporters after making the new bail. It’s unknown when he’s due back in court.

New details have surfaced in the fatal police shooting of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” alum Lydia McLaughlin‘s brother … police say he grabbed the cop’s taser and assaulted the officer before getting shot during a traffic stop.

According to Newport Beach Police, Geoffrey Shyam Stirling “managed to remove the department-issued taser from the officer’s duty belt and attempted to deploy it multiple times against the officer” during the traffic stop Thursday in Orange County, CA. The department claims, “at that point, an officer-involved shooting occurred.”
The PD went on to confirm what law enforcement sources told us on Friday … that Geoffrey was uncooperative and assaulted the cop.
The PD says they gave medical aid to Geoffrey until the Newport Beach Fire Department arrived on the scene. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The California Department of Justice is aware of the shooting and is conducting an independent investigation. Once the investigation is complete, the findings will be turned over to the DOJ’s Special Prosecutions Section for independent review.
Lydia told TMZ on Friday … “My family and I are devastated by the loss of my brother. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from friends, family, and the community. We kindly ask for privacy as we mourn.”

Joe Rogan took aim at Katy Perry and her all-women Blue Origin crew during a new episode of his podcast, calling the brief 11-minute flight “profound” — with heavy sarcasm.
“She’s basically a guru now,” Rogan joked of Katy, who flew alongside Gayle King, Jeff Bezos‘ fiancée, Lauren Sanchez, astronaut Amanda Nguyễn, former NASA engineer Aisha Bowe, and producer Kerianne Flynn last Monday.
Rogan ridiculed KP for bringing a daisy aboard, which was a nod to her daughter Daisy. “It shows how quick the flight was — the flower was still alive,” Rogan said during his podcast.
Rogan also questioned the mission’s significance, contrasting the crew’s minimal training with that of traditional NASA astronauts. “They essentially got to the threshold of space. How great is it that they just get called astronaut?”
Though Joe admitted he’d try a brief suborbital flight, he said deep space isn’t for him … “I’d do the 80 miles — not space space.”
Illinois Plane Crash
4 Dead After Plane Hits Power Lines

Four people from Wisconsin were killed over the weekend when a small single-engine plane crashed in Illinois.
According to the Illinois State Police, the plane went down around 10:15 AM on Saturday. All four people on board were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to CBS News, the crash happened after the plane struck a set of power lines.
Local authorities say the Federal Aviation Administration was on scene investigating while the The National Transportation Safety Board is expected to arrive on Sunday to lead the investigation.
The victims names have not been released.
