Joseph Duggar is “nervous, anxious and worried” about what the future holds for him following his arrest on child molestation charges, TMZ has learned.
Joseph’s attorney, Al Sauline, told TMZ it’s been a whirlwind for Joseph after he was arrested in Tontitown, Arkansas, on 2 child sex abuse charges on March 18 … and with all the media coverage, he’s feeling the pressure of the unknown that lies ahead.
We’re told the “19 Kids and Counting” star has no idea what evidence Florida prosecutors have… and he and his legal team are not even allowed to see it until prosecutors file formal charges. However, they do know who the alleged victim is.
Remember … Joseph was booked on 2 counts of lewd and lascivious behavior, including one for molestation of a victim less than 12 years old and one for conduct committed by a person 18 years or older stemming from a 2020 alleged incident in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Sauline also notes there’s a bunch of conflicting evidence — and a lot of speculation — making it tough for the defense team to know what’s legit and who is leaking what. Joseph and his wife, Kendra, are well aware they have to be careful about what they say and to whom — we published a jail phone call between the pair during which Kendra pleaded with her hubby not to trust a soul.
Sauline tells us the defense team’s top priority is that Joseph is treated fairly. In addition, Joseph and his team are standing by his not guilty plea.
Sauline says Joseph has “good family support” following his release back to Arkansas on a $600K bond this week … and it’s helping him stay in “good spirits.”
As you know, Joseph was also charged with 4 counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and 4 counts of second-degree false imprisonment, along with Kendra, as a result of a separate investigation. She was booked into jail in Tontitown on March 20 but was swiftly released after making a $1,470 bond.
Joseph is due in court for his child sex charges on May 18 … pushed back from April 20.
