Johnny Depp‘s band Hollywood Vampires is being dragged in federal court in Texas over a concert they canceled in Europe … but they’re fighting the suit, and calling for it to be tossed out of court.
A concert promoter in Bratislava, Slovakia, is suing Hollywood Vampires … alleging Depp, Alice Cooper and Joe Perry bailed on a July 2023 concert despite being paid around $277K in advance and never returning the money … according to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ.
But, in new legal docs, Hollywood Vampires is firing back … claiming the lawsuit should be dismissed due to a lack of personal jurisdiction. In other words, the band says the concert promoter didn’t establish that the federal court in Texas had the power to deal with the case.
The promoter claims Hollywood Vampires suddenly scrapped their appearance on the date of the concert, claiming that the venue was inadequate.
But in truth … the promoter claims the real reason for the no-show was Johnny was allegedly hospitalized for an unknown medical issue, specifically, “for personal reasons unrelated to the venue.”
In the suit, the promoter claims it demanded repayment from Hollywood Vampires … but no word back.
The promoter says they “lost money and looked unreliable in the industry.”
We reached out to reps for Hollywood Vampires … so far no word back.
