John Lewis Partnership is gearing up for a busy Christmas trading period. The UK department store/supermarket group, which is enjoying a resurgence in its operational fortunes, saying it has begun its “biggest ever” seasonal recruitment drive.

Advertising has begun to recruit 13,700 roles to support anticipated demand during the retail season’s Golden Quarter. That will include 3,000 temporary jobs across 35 John Lewis stores and nearly 2,200 across the retailer’s distribution centres and supply chain network.
The roles cover a mix of shop floor and back-of-house positions, offering competitive pay, training, and flexible working options.
It said seasonal staff will support the lead-up to Black Friday, the Christmas period, and John Lewis’s January Winter Sale, with the partnership expecting 30 million shop visits and 180 million online visits across the period.
The campaign also reflects the partnership’s wider investment in customer service, including a £800 million programme to transform John Lewis stores and upgrading its beauty halls.
